You know what, creds to Manny

Imagine what the this team can be if Diaz was able to install a little discipline in the team. That’s one area he’s lacking real bad.
This right here. The players do sooo much dumb sHT ( see Boldin and his stupid penalty ) and there no recourse and yea I know Bolding got pulled for a whole 2 plays when he should have been sat for the rest of the game . He’s lucky his dumb sHT didn’t result in points costing us the game.
Manny needs to stop worrying about being friends with the players and worry about holding them accountable for doing stupid sHT on a constant basis.

It’s easy to sit at home and criticize. I can only imagine what it was like practicing this week- sounded like someone else went out every day.
ugly or not, a win is a win.
Not many teams play a completely perfect game every week this season...

We don't have the depth to bench Bolden the rest of the game. If he did that, then you would crucify him for benching him. Agree with the discipline but c'mon, some people put too much blame on the coaches. Roche's offsides vs Clemson on 4th down...seriously a 5th year SR making that mistake? Bolden and his penalty today and the list is extensive. These guys have been playing football their entire lives so the discipline has to start with them. There is only so much a coach can do and we're not Alabama so benching a starter an entire game is ludicrous

I yoinked my meat watching that blake baker big D!!!!!!

The kids play hard for him — that’s a good sign.

However, the penalties are going to cost us eventually. That’s an area where he needs to grow. The sign of a great coach is a displined team.

I’ve thought about this a lot - I think Diaz can I still more DISCIPLINE once we have more DEPTH

right now we’re not at the level of a Bama or Clemson, where if a guy does something dumb, you yank them and put in the hungry 5 star backup.

If Blades does something stupid for example, we’re not going to trot out Dunson or Clarke and he knows that.

You don’t start disciplining in the 8th game of the year you do it from the outset in the first meeting setting ground rules..And I don’t want to speak for NikCane but I’m sure he’s not just talking about this game either. If he is I hope he comes here and says so and I’ll apologize in advance.
This is something you instill from day one and if you do you aren’t worried about benching someone in the 8th game with no backups cause the players have already learned stupid sHT like the stuff we continually do wont be tolerated. They know idiotic plays that cost the team are a no no and have recourse if done.
We have had players commit stupid penalties all year and they don’t even come to the sideline for what should be an asschewing. They just go on to the next play more than likely pulling some other boneheaded sHT later on.Why? Cause Manny and the coaches have let it go all year.
Not sure that you can start trying to be an enforcer now. The players will look at you like “ hey we’ve done it all year with no recourse so I thought it was acceptable”.NOW you’re gonna come at me after 8 games?
Manny needs to do this at the Beginning of Spring next year and at freshmen orientation setting rules that if broken will have consequences. Not sure it’s not too late this year to try and set them straight now.It might only cause problems cause it’s been tolerated all year..
Manny needs to let these kids know you want a friend get a dog but if you don’t care enough about your teammates to not get stupid penalties you will be standing next to him to make sure you don’t do it a second time....jmo

LOL, credit Manny for what? For having the most un discipline team in college football or maybe blowing 5 points away today. Yikes we have played one real good team this year and we got our asses kicked. Yes the record is 7-1 but could we beat Alabama, Texas AM, Florida, Ohio St, Cincinnati, Georgia, or Oregon? The answer is yes if we could play with 12-13 players on every down. The 7-1 record is the most deceiving record I'VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME.

I don't enjoy watching this team at the moment, but I'll take the W.

It's about building momentum with this and future recruiting classes so we can ACTUALLY out talent the ACC teams we play.

Kinda sad you aren't enjoying this. NC ST comeback was thrilling, and I was on the edge of my seat with this one. Tons of fun. Nerve-wracking, but I'm loving these Canes.

these past two weeks were the perfect "Covid got us, we are down in total numbers, we played with a hand tied behind our back" type of excuse games. We still fielded a team while the SEC and big ten were cancelling games all over the place. there were NO excuses we WON both games...close for comfort? yes, could we have played better? Yes, coached better? Yes. But we won after being extremely limited in practice. 7-1 is very good. With that said Thank God for King transferring here and bringing his LT with him (if he also brought a G and CB, it would have been nice).

Manny gets no credit until Baker is gone or demoted. Otherwise, he is the problem. If Manny is such a good friend of Baker's he should tell him the truth ... "You are not ready, yet"
Idk but it seems like he gets the most out of the guys when he needs too.. we are winning games we would have easily lost last year. That’s a great trait for a H

Exactly. Baker is a huge liability and Manny is trying to conceal his serious shortcomings by covertly calling the plays during crunch time. Baker is Manny’s BFF. Seen this movie before

Ol boy almost coRched us out of a win giving away 5 points.
I didn't see the fake FG. The two attempts for 2 point conversions were unwise. Coaches seem to think they will be considered geniuses by going for two when there is plenty of time left to play. I have seen too many college and NFL games where the coach went for 2 points before the 4th quarter and the lost extra point ended up biting them in the butt. Thanks to the defense, VT didn't come close to a game-winning FG.
