You are Kyle Murray.......

I would do exactly what he is doing, make both sides think the other side is winning the battle for me and make them outbid each other. He has met with the A's and then said he is going to the draft, awesome move. I get the A's to guarantee me more money to just play baseball eventually and use the leverage I have, he is John Elway in reverse, he will pick baseball and never look back but someone may waste a high pick trying to win him over, hope its not the fins.
He has no shot at being much of a QB in the NFL.
Agree, but would be a **** of a slot, punt/kickoff return guy

I can't stand baseball and the length pf time spent on the road is insane. Still, take the money up front and see what happens. You always have a fallback in football.

Because those are good stats for a CFer?

Not necessarily for people who the "more money in baseball" people are thinking of in their head when they talk about that more money.

You have to be a STAR in baseball for 6-8 YEARS before you see that big money. In football he will get 15million to start. If he is AVERAGE in the NFL he will get over 10million per year after that first 3 to 4 years.

Bryce Harper has been a generational superstar and made less than 5 million per year for first 6 years. 13million in 2017 and 21million in 2018. After being the best player in the world and after 8 years.

Josh McCown, Ryan Tannehil, Blake Bortles, Case Keenum, tyrod Taylor and Andy dalton have all or will make more than Bryce Harper after 8 years.

Well, it doesn’t, but you’ve got a neat little tough guy NFL fan rant going.

Yes it does. And you've got an adorable little defensive posture towards all your views.

Ask Americans who started the Super Bowl vs took the mound for the World Series. The

Baseball is dying, it's a pretty easy choice for a 1st round QB.

PS- Is Chip Kelly still a lock to UF? How's Mark Richt looking? I like my chances against anything you say.

it's honestly a no-brainer, even if he were to become a star-QB, he could live a much better/richer life playing baseball

A better question is IF you were giving advice to your son, which would you advise that he take. Then the correct answer is a lot clearer for most

Because as we all know, that decision is made more by someone's heart versus their head if they're making it for themselves. Short term gains sometime outweigh long term benefits because some want immediate rewards

If there is any doubt, look at the overall ability to enjoy a normal. pain free life of an old person that's had a long career in either..

Without a doubt, there is more $$$, longevity, less bodily risk and far more security, far greater chance to maintain your good looks, overall health and faculties in baseball.....it's no contest, not even close.

Kyle Murrray is 5'9 at best. He is not 5'11. He would struggle in the NFL game. He would be the shortest QB to suit up since Doug Flutie. Baseball.

Id personally Play both until you make a MLB roster . Kyler has the goods to play in the majors quicker than most prospects. And someone will give him a shot at QB in the league. Baseball, the way they do their contracts you have to wait to make that major money they can offer. I think up until like 2014 russel Wilson was participating in spring workouts with the rangers

Arm talent/athleticism will make up for it. In today’s game QBs aren’t asked to take 5-7 step drops so the height thing isn’t as big a issue. He’ll be able to survey the field just fine.

That’s not saying much.

If you’re looking at it from a pure numbers standpoint. Close to 2/3 of 1st round picks make it to the big leagues. So you’re giving yourself a 1/3 chance to not make it. Added to the fact he’ll have to wait 4-5 years for that big deal if he’s even worth it.

Instead in 3 months he could be cashing a $10-20 million check just for being drafted.

That stat is a bit misleading. 74.3% of college players drafted in the first round make the major leagues (only 58.2% for high school players drafted). That 74% is likely even higher for a top 10 college pick.

He also wouldn't have to wait for a big deal if negotiated correctly. Scott Kingery (Phillies) signed 6 years/24 million guaranteed contract before he ever got out of the minor leagues.

I'd go football

I don't think he's likely to really make it big in either. Better to be an NFL backup QB for 3-4 years than to putz around the minors for 3-4 years. His exposure and chance to make money off endorsements would be much higher in the NFL. Not an easy call though

The kids played like 70 college games and hit under .300 and played on the Cape and hit under .200. Kyler isn’t Dansby or Bregman or Benintendi. He was a reach that early and only taken bc he’s an elite athlete.

Also Kingery got $24 million after a couple years? Wow good for him. Kyler is gonna get that the day he signs to play football

“The Baseball is dying”. Could I get an English translation?

I see I’ve touched a nerve. None of the major sports are dying, and plenty of people are still choosing baseball over football. Saying that Murray should choose football because “no one cares about baseball” is a CIS Neanderthal thing to say.

I agree about his height. I would guess he’s even closer to 5’8”.

That being said, the dude can play. At this point I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that he could be an NFL starting QB and have success. He is a special talent.

But think about this: how hard would it be for an all-world Heisman QB to go bounce around in the minors while hoping to make it vs. getting called up to the podium in prime time on day 1 of the NFL draft and instantly becoming the face of a franchise?

Baseball is going away.

Youth leagues are struggling.

MLS is gaining momentum because if a game is going to end 2-0, at least people are moving.

Baseball game has about 8 minutes of activity.

Lies. Youth leagues are struggling because no one plays at youth leagues. They play travel ball. Look up Perfect Game or Jupiter or East Cobb to see if baseball is dying.

FYI, football participation at the high school level has dropped for two straight years. Not that facts will do any good around here.

Baseball. He's worth 4.5 million ASAP on just his signing bonus, it'll be better on his body, and he signed a nice deal. Could he sign a bigger deal in the NFL? Yeah, of course. But the volatility of that league and the lack of guarantees makes it big no for me. $4.5 million immediately and a much healthier body is enough for me.

Just curious.........how many minutes of activity do you think there are in a football game?

Murray is too good an athlete to waste his time and talent playing that glorified love child of cricket and tag.

MLB, like socialism, will fail once they run out of subsided losing businesses, like half the teams.
