Wow

How long do you think it takes from that point for the first injunction to hit a docket? Somebody is going to get one.

Fair point. Who knows?

I think it is LESS likely with the House settlement in place. Not sure a brand new court issues an injunction when the "new compensation era" will already be based on a negotiated settlement of a prior lawsuit.

Yes, the NCAA has a massive in-court losing streak. But the only reason we are where we are is because of a settlement.

I know one California firm in OC that was hired months ago to get suit ready to file the moment the case ripened. Not sure if they are still planning on moving forward. But bet your bottom dollar others will.

I do not deny that anyone can sue for anything at any time.

Whether the courts will entertain that, or dismiss the suit, is up in the air.

Those firms can sue. But given the high-profile nature of the House settlement, there is a likelihood that any judge will say "you had your chance to join the House settlement or to file an objection, so this new lawsuit is redundant".

We shall see. Start popping the popcorn.

Could they make an argument that the players had zero voice in that settlement? Just like they had zero voice when they were forced to pay under amateur rules? Why should the number be set at $Xm per year and not $Ym? Just seems interesting the word settlement is used when the dispute is with players and the players had no input. Could lead to a players union, which I believe is inevitable.

There isn’t a likelihood of that.

He’s my favorite receiver from last season’s class. Toney and Moore are also very talented and I know Toney got a lot of hype during Spring, but I have a feeling (PAUSE) that Upshaw is gonna be a baller. (DOUBLE PAUSE)
Film doesnt lie if he wouldve signed with Bama or Auburn hed been a high rated 4* on all platforms **** near 2000 all purpose yards i didnt add

I just think it's funny this poster thinks "the cap" just automatically happens without any enabling legislation or rules.

Moron.

We will sign NIL deals with all those guys before "House settlement" actually becomes an operative thing.
Imagine a world where good business men are ahead of legislation

And even after the house settlement becomes an operating thing, again you still can’t limit a player from earning extra money via NIL. That is illegal, of course. All the the cap is what the university can pay the student, not what he can also earn through NIL/canes collective.

TOC who will be a part of the people that will investigate the NIL deals.Has that been set yet. Will they be members off the colleges ( AD’s ,Chancellor’s etc) or will they be past players, coaches, etc.

And that’s where the NIl oversight is gonna fail. What is the established market for a 3rd party to say what is or what isn’t acceptable? If I’m a collective or business I simply point to past deals to say this what it cost for a player then and this is what it costs now. Who is some 3rd party to say what is legit and what isn’t?
