Wow

Agree or not, CIS fans are in prove it mode. They see that Mario hasn't recruited any wide receivers who have hit big on the field during his first 3 seasons at a spot where 1st and 2nd year guys can make a splash. Smith's success at Taint adds fuel to the fire.

My 0.02 is that the poor WR recruiting narrative will be shattered this season just like the QB killer narrative was last season. Need Jojo and ideally a second Mario recruit to emerge.
Good take. I think it’s easy to forget that we also had a stable of seniors last year and only a JS or maybe Ryan Williams could have walked in that room and started immediately.

This year there are opportunities for the young guys to see meaningful snaps and show out. I think a lot of us are confident in Jojos breakout, but if we get another, that would really help change the narrative.

I also think having someone at QB locked in early will help sell future WR recruits. We’ve been late last couple years but between Dawson track record and with youngsters already in house, I think that narrative could change as well.

Really excited for the future.

Then leave. Nobody will miss you. Literally nobody.

Ahem…

someone mentioned that UM is basically doing a “moneyball” analysis and putting NIL to the positions the metrics say are most valuable. It is odd though that it puts so little value in WRs and LBs. Obviously everything can’t be equally important or it makes the exercise irrelevant, but I look at Clemsons championships in the 2010s- they were built on QB, WR, LBs. Decent OL and secondary but didn’t seem like top priorities. I think Cristobal is trying to build a SEC type team, but nearly all the good ones feature elite receivers. Bummer if we miss on 5 star WR talent again.
Eh, in their prime Clemson carried a bunch of JAGs at LB. Counterpoint, it's easy to make plays at LB when the DC is stealing signals week in and week out :bobross:

Playing behind a line littered with 1st rounders makes any LB look good. They landed Trenton Simpson and some other LB’s that were good. That white kid from GA they have now will be a good one. Brown?

Oh, I disagree with @TheReturn2023 ...he absolutely IS "inclined to post everything he knows". Which, of course, is NOTHING, because he knows nothing.

I'm still waiting to "see later"...I wonder who those "other targets" were that we were "focused on". Since he pretends that he knows so much...

I also wonder if @TheReturn2023 included his own posts in his "99.99% gibberish" statistic...

& Upshaw is criminally underrated definitely a bluechip put up better numbers as the go to guy without 5*coleman his senior season over 1500 yds and 18 TD's 1st team all state 7A in Alabama.
He’s my favorite receiver from last season’s class. Toney and Moore are also very talented and I know Toney got a lot of hype during Spring, but I have a feeling (PAUSE) that Upshaw is gonna be a baller. (DOUBLE PAUSE)

Simpson was after their championships. He was their consolation prize in the Justin Flowe sweepstakes. They have signed some good LBs since him but the only 'Stud" LB I recall from their championship run was Isiah Simmons.
