worst fsu team in 30 years?

Their defense is elite. Pretty impressive performance by our offense in the second half.

Their offense on the other hand is bad. True freshman qb, terrible Oline, no stand our skill players.

Regardless that was a good win considering it was a rivalry game and they gave us everything they had. I expect next years game to be another classic.

Outside of Auden Tate and running backs their skill players leave a lot to be desired. Auden Tate is a stud for sure though

Cam Akers is a star already.

And talent isn't the issue. George Campbell has a ton of talent. FSU just has bad coaching, at least with the offense position coaches

Coaching is the same thing that killed us as well. Your point stands though, FSU does have a lot of talent.....that is squandered, and that's not Miami's problem. They sure didn't seem to mind glossing over the fact we had Al Golden roaming the sidelines for a majority of this 7-win streak they had on us. The same Al Golden who quite possibly was by far the worst head coach to ever step through Coral Gables.

No standout skill players? Uh, ok. They have 2 5* and 4 4* RBs, plus 1 5* and at least 4 4* WRs.

They also have some talented OL, they're just poorly coached.

Regardless, outside of QB, this is the same roster they claimed would be in the playoff. And Blackman has actually been pretty solid.

God forbid FSU ever give us or NC St any credit
I think as Miami fans we should know stars don't equal skill.

I get your overall point and agree, but I've seen them a couple of times and they legit have zero playmakers at WR and really haven't for years. They might have had stars by their name but we know how that works as well.

Still, they have a great defense, really good running game, and a capable QB. It's still a good team all around just takes some time to adjust to their circumstances. It's certainly not "the worst FSU team" as some are alluding to.

i see many fsu fans and even some so called canes fans trying to discredit the win by saying it's the worst fsu team in decades.
here are the espn recruiting rankings for fsu over their last 5 classes. Keep in mind they could be ranked even higher on other recruiting services

2016- #1 class
2015- #2 class
2014 #3 class
2013- #9 class
2012-#2 class

Miami beat a really talented fsu team i dont care what their record says, if they somehow held on to win that game we all know what the narrative would be that they are still an elite team and only had early struggles due to a true freshman QB being thrown in unexpectedly and now he 's hitting his stride. Now that they lost to Miami they're a bottom of the barrel acc squad. :monkey-serious:

These exact same Noles' fans used the same exact class rankings 6 weeks ago to brag about how they were the best team in the country. Now they want to say it's their worst team in 30 years and that's the only reason Miami won. Cowards! They know what's happening, they just don't want to face it.

LULZ.

The team that Kirby Freeman beat might be in that discussion but not this consensus top 5 team that had playoff and championship aspirations.

FOH

Star recruiting classes or not, there have been worse FSU teams in the last 10 years. ****, I believe their team last year was arguably worse or on the same level during our game. They were riddled with injuries. I don't know why there's an insistence to devalue the win.

That's crazy. FSU isn't that bad. None of their losses have been lopsided and they've all been against good teams. They had the bad luck of losing their starting QB. They may end up 6-5 or 7-4 but their record won't be indicative of how good and how talented this team really is.

Doesn't matter. We won and every recruit knows it. They are on a slide down and we are on an elevator up. Their original rise to fame was based on being the only team who played us close but lose anyway. Everyone else we just destroyed. They beat up the OTHER teams so they tucked in behind us in the polls and cruised in our wake. Finally, when we were on the way down, they got a lucky a NC. When both teams were great we won virtually every game. When both sucked we split. We they were good and we sucked, they won. Now that we are getting good again, we will beat them regularly like before whether they are good or suck. When we are good, they are helpless regardless of how good they are.

Jimbo’s offense doesn’t work without a good QB. When the QB sucks, they battle field position all game long.

FSU is a better team than they’ve shown this year and I feel proud about the win in Tallahassee. It was the best game their O-line played this year and their defense is elite (Miami didn’t cross midfield for the first half). They didn’t lose, Miami won. But, I wouldn’t be surprised if FSU ran the table or if Clemson is their only loss after a hard fought game. (Then the laughable narrative will be that they’re overachieving with 2*’s).

It’s Tech time.

No it wasn't. It was only one that they didn't called for holding as much as they should've. They don't even get to 10 pts. if they would've flagged correctly. Every single one of their scoring drives had multiple missed holding calls. Drive killing missed holding calls lolol. They still might have popped some plays but, I'd put my money on that they wouldn't have been converting 3& longs due to holding penalities through out the game lolololol

But ***'em we won.

i always loved that argument

diminish our win by telling us their team sucks a lot haha

i think their strength and conditioning program is about as bad as we were under swassey. Brian burns was getting manhandled by a tightend

You gotta love hypocrisy. They beat our True Freshman unranked team with their #2 ranked team in Miami in 2014. However this year should not count just because the shoe is on the other foot. Remember thos Sucks to be U shirts? LOL!!!

You got me good with that headline, bro. I only came in here to tell you to STOP it. Glad I didn't have to do that. Solid post.

F()CK the haters, all of them. They can talk all they want, all season long. With every game we win, they will try harder and harder to discredit and ignore us, but they'll be less and less able to do it. We keep winning games, they can't do ****.

Like D said, this season is all about Destiny (yeah, that ain't no error in capitalization either). I got the faith and ain't no jabbering chatterhead gonna shake me. See the light, tell those chattering b!tches where they can leave their messages, and come along for the ride...

Being a 5 star doesn't make you a stand out. See Charlie Jones. FSU problems mainly stem from having a true frosh qb starting who isn't ready. It isn't coaching. A lot of these coaches are the same guys who helped win a title in 2013. Have no idea why you keep claiming coaching is an issue. Polly cause it's an easy/lazy excuse.

Alternatively, you can also tell chattering FSU "fans" not to be so modest... They have had MUCH ****tier teams than this in the last 30 years.

Jumbo is a great coach and he shouldn't change a thing. Keep all personnel and get back to winning. Nothing to see here.

Cheeseburger, Lineage 14.1

Don't let that we beat a bad FSU team get to you. Some facts for you. FSU has beaten 1 decent UM team in those 7 years (2016 - 9-4 - 2013 was a fluke as we later learn).

10: 7-6
11: 6-6
12: 7-5
13: 9-4
14: 6-7
15: 8-5
16: 9-4
----------------
52-37 (58.4%)

6 of those 7 years We had to deal with the cloud, Al Golden and Coach no D, and poor recruiting compared to their top 5 classes.

When we become a consistent program again lets see how much they win then.

However, Miami could have easily won two, or possibly three of those games in ' 14', 15' and last season. But that's all moot now. hUh.
