Win Out.

I know there's a ton of negativity on this board right now -- much of it deserved -- and many of you won't think it's possible.

But win the f*ck out.

I wrote on this thread earlier this season that the depth of our junior and senior classes just isn't there for us to compete with Top 10 programs this year. (Thread here: https://www.canesinsight.com/thread...cruiting-rankings-through-this-season.137034/). I believe this will be BY FAR the weakest team Richt will field during his Miami tenure (however long or short that will be), and that the younger depth coming up will get us closer to where we need to be.

I think last year (minus the final three games) showed us where we can be as a program. I think this year showed us what work remains before we get there (namely, matching our defensive aggressiveness on the offensive side of the football and upgrading the coaching staff to a level consistent with top 5 teams in the country). I think that good will come out of the lessons learned this year, and that the staff will make the changes necessary to get us back to dominating the Coastal and getting involved in the playoff picture.

But it starts with winning out. Get to 9-3, win the bowl game to finish with 10 wins, carry momentum into recruiting season, and come back with a fresh new look in 2019.

I'll be there cheering on the guys Saturday, as disappointed as I am. I hope the banners don't fly just yet -- we need to see if changes come at the end of the season before that should occur, and we need the kids to know the city's behind them.

Win out. Find a way.

I said that last week... and the week before... didnt seem to help.

We're 5-3 with a pathetic schedule and this ain't Iowa. Go root for another program bud.

Being right rather than happy is your prerogative. But you're a fool for calling out fans who are rooting for the program to be successful. Full stop, case closed.

If a fan actively roots for a program to fail, you're not a fan. Look in the mirror before asking someone else to root for another team.

Yeah, it's frustrating no doubt. But win out and make changes that are necessary, and this becomes a blip rather than a symptom of a larger disease. I hope the team and the staff gets its head right for the final four games.

Being a blind Don Bailey Jr cheerleader settling for mediocrity rather than wanting to be competitive is your prerogative. But you're a fool for calling out fans rooting for what's best for the program. Full stop, case closed

If a fan actively roots for a coach to succeed at the expenses of the program, you're not a fan. Look in the mirror before asking someone else to root for another team.

We win out, win a bowl, croot 6 more kids, hire a legit OC and I will be in Heaven.

You're a clown if you're rooting for failure over the team winning out. Thanks for playing.

You're a clown if you're rooting for meaningless wins over the possibility of finally , maybe getting a good coach to right the ship. Thanks for playing

But we lost to Va and BC! VIRGINIA AND F****** BOSTON COLLEGE

Absolutely, except 2 more things, Perry starts, looks great along with the OL. No matter what though, have to hire an OC. Take the decision away from MR.
Thing is though, should we have our ideal finish, theres a very good chance we dont get the OC we need.

Not necessarily true. I think that IF we win out (big if), the staff and admin will look at the UVA and BC games and see what huge missed opportunities each were to have a special season.

In talking to people close to the program who know far more about it than I do, I'm hearing that the program knows that changes need to be/will be made this offseason, which gives me hope. Sure, it's a big assumption that those things happen, but I guess it's the optimist in me saying that 1) we'll have a true OC in place in 2019, and 2) nothing that happens between now and then will change that.

Which is why I'm rooting for them winning out.

We have people in here talking as if 5-3 and unranked in YEAR THREE is no problem.

Again the myopic lemmings would rather us win a bunch of meaningless games which prolongs our state of mediocrity.

Lets say we win out, and carry that momentum. Guess what will happen? the momentum will come to a crashing halt at some point bc our coach is a loser and has done this his entire career. So you are wishing for the same crap.

What I’M wishing for is a goddam return to being the real Miami, and that isn’t happening with this coach and staff.

I know he won't get fired this year. We have the biggest collection of morons running our program that exist in any admin office in the country.

But here's what I also know...this type of thing happens in phases. Phase 1 is for things to go absolutely sideways....and THEN AND ONLY THEN will our clueless administration BEGIN to even consider moving in a new direction.

What must be done eventually, SHOULD be done immediately.

You are completely delusional. A problem has risen (Offense overall) and has been magnified by an inept QB. It is completely irrational to think ANY program would consider firing Richt at this juncture. I know its doom and gloom right now but you have to give him the opportunity to right the ship before you consider pulling the trigger.
These are the scenarios I see
1. He doesn't change a **** thing and gambles on Perry or Williams being able to run his O at a high level. Big gamble because both are still young and he is passed the point now where he can use that as an excuse because it wasn't working before they took over.
2. He makes some coaching changes and the offense is tweaked.
3. He hires an OC

I think we will see #2 before he goes to 3. If he goes with #1 then he is a river boat gambler.

Again the same old low IQ folks want to give a coach who has 18 years of data “time to change”.

He was fired from UGA for a reason. We are 5-3 and unranked in his third year, with a PATHETIC recruiting class.

What in the **** do you want to give him more time for?

Yes
Will they - doubt it. Things are so upside down, and chaotic, that the chemistry and cohesion, needed to win out, likely aren't there. I hope I'm proven wrong - for recruitings sake.
