Will Rosier improve like Brock Berlin?

I saw somewhere Rosier's numbers where similar to Charlie Wards 1st year with Richt. 2nd year did a lot better.

Yup, I was actually going to post this exact thing. Charlie Ward from year 1 to year 2 was an enormous difference. He was a 55% passer and then his senior year vaulted to 69%!!!!

Thats because Brad Scott convinced Bowden for Ward to play in the shotgun and not under center.....Watch how Rude we treated Ward in 92....Then watch Ward in 93 (NC) and his play in the Shotgun....

I guess we should put Rosier under center

Cmon man stop with the logic and stuff. We want everything to occur in a vacuum.

Rosier has plenty of room to improve but Berlin went from being one of the worst QBs in major college football, if not the worst, to a solid player. Rosier last year was somewhat similar to what Berlin was in 04. Berlin’s 04 season was not some kind of dominant season.

Let’s hope he takes another huge step forward.

He will absolutely be better than he was last year. He has some ability. He's just got a very low ceiling. And he was incredibly inconsistent last year. But I expect him to be better, no doubt about it. Can he really be much worse? I hate to say that because he did have some really good moments and the FSU game will be remembered for the rest of time, but he barely completed 50% of his passes last year. You have to think with another full year to work on his game, he's got to at least be a little better.

Not expecting that type of jump but it would be great if he got to 62 or 63%. He would have had at least 60% if not for all of those drops we had last year

whatever it is we got to find out why there was such a difference in the first 7 games compared to most of the last 6 games. Was it really that shoulder injury that he got vs unc hurting him that bad or what? He definitely was a different qb after that point coming off one of his best performances of the season vs Syracuse the week prior.

I’ll hold out hope he can improve, it is interesting that he was that productive even with a injured Richards for nearly all of the games he played and Walton only playing the first 4 games. Not saying he will be elite but people who say he is so trash or can’t improve is overreacting imo

Sr year Brock, yes.

Jr year Brock, **** no. That 2003 team might have been the best Miami team ever had they just had competent QB play. The defense in particular just had absurd talent

Definitely a case for the best defense.

The defense the second half of 2003 season was unbelievable. I think we were giving up about 200 yards per game. Any type of quarterback play and Miami goes undefeated. He was awful against Tennessee. Just awful. Mystery why they did not keep him in the shot gun after the Florida game. Clearly, he was comfortable and could see the field much better. Werner did a really nice job with Brock his senior year.

I’ll never forget KW wide open in the end zone for the winner.

Brock Berlin was in a system that went totally against his abilities and performed better when he was placed in a comfort zone (shotgun). His decision making was bad at times but he didnt go from completely inaccurate to accurate.

Decision making(berlin) and accuracy(rosier) are two different things.

Rosier doesn't have the PHYSICAL intangibles needed to make such a drastic improvement.

A great deal of accuracy is decision making. Players that aren’t sure what to do are indecisive. They make decisions late, and get the ball out late. This leads to inaccuracies.

A qb does not go from inaccurate to accurate just by going to the shotgun. The gun gives them more time to process the play while having to pay less attention to their footwork. That allows them to be more decisive throwing the ball, and therefore more accurate. But it also limits the plays you can run.

I AGREE. But i watched this man throw bubble screens into the dirt all season. that is just bad, man. We cant win big with a qb who cant make those throws accurately and consistently

Wright was misused also. Kid had a rocket for an arm, ran a 4.5, and they had Him taking 100 step drops. Werner sucked.

Berlin went from totally ineffective and one of the worst QBs in the country to effective but still inaccurate. Rosier doesn’t need to make such a drastic improvement because he was about 100x better than berlin was as a junior

What is a “physical inangible?”
