Will/Can Radakovich force Mario to make changes at the end of the year?

I have a feeling Gattis/Steele will both leave on their own volition tbh. Will be interesting to see if any assistants are specifically let go. Although the overall tackling on D is collectively awful on the back end talent acquisition will solve a lot, offensively its practically the opposite, we need a schematic wizard who will make us dynamic & exciting. Get someone young who wants to embarrass the opposition and build his rep and making us relevant.
Imagine Mario conducting 8 hour long interviews (according to reports) only to come up with Gattis and Steele.

The problem is certainly Gattis but the bigger problem is Mario. The man is the worst day game coach I have seen in 60 years watching football. He consistently makes poor decisions and it kills the chance of winning a game. MARIO IS THE PROBLEM 1000% and now you know why Oregon didn't pursue him.
Someone take this poster out back like Old Yeller.

Mario ain’t the only problem. 38-13 at Oregon in a better conference but not good enough for mighty Miami. Now are his coordinator hires bad? Yeah they are. He f’d up and that’s a big strike. But with our salary, as long as he CHANGES HIS OFFENSIVE PHILOSOPHY and goes with a more exciting and explosive offense, we should be better.

Oh and 75% of our players wouldn’t start at most Power 5 programs. You can bet on that, and thank Manuelita.

Sorry s. Fla slurpers, we’ve constantly recruited second and third tier guys that are all talk but possess a ****** when it’s time to strap up and play football.

The only happening if Gattis leaves is they hire a WR Coach and Ponce is promoted to OC. That's why he's here. Stop kidding yourselves

Internally promoting a coach from an underperforming staff

Not an excuse really, but our offense continually puts our defense in horrible situations continuously.

To a soft team sudden shifts in field position are debilitating.
That might be an understatement. I mean today, Miami's offense (and ST) gave up a TD directly, then gave Duke 7 extra possessions, basically an entire half's worth, 4 of which came inside our own 25 yd line and led to 24 Duke points. The final 5 possessions for our offense were: Downs, Fumble, INT, Pick 6, Fumble. I get that the defense has to make some stops and force FGs instead of TDs after turnovers, but **** did the offense make it hard on everyone today

Story of our Season

Continuous stream blunders not allowing us to generate any momentum whatsoever.

His belabored hiring process is likely part of the reason we had to settle on both of these guys as our coordinators in the first place. They seemed like good hires to many of us at the time, but neither were his top choices. Gattis May have been like his 5th choice depending on who you believe.

I think for a guy who is supposed to be a CEO coach, Mario has some pretty huge managerial deficiencies.

I said this in another thread but since we're stuck with Mario I think his best course of action is to learn from Dabo. Hire elite coordinators and let them run the show. The only thing Mario should be involved in is recruiting.

You would think Gatis the Broyles award winner was elite. So was Steele. We were all elated at these hirings. Don’t blame Mario now hindsight. Sometimes the best looking chic isn’t the best in bed.

What I take from this is this. You know a good or bad coach from the reactions of the fan base that he is leaving for your school. We need to go to the other fan base board and learn about our new coach.

Honestly, it doesn’t really matter. Gattis will probably be gone this year and Mario will take weeks to hire an OC only to come to come up with another trash OC hire that can’t manage to break 30. This is all on Mario.

Oregon fans have been pretty elated that Mario left and Michigan fans have been open about their disdain towards Gattis. Steele hasn’t coached in a bit but he was pretty well thought of at his last stop in Auburn.

realistically, which innovative OC will want to work with Mario? thats the biggest question. wasn't gattis like plan D?
They can get someone if they say he runs the show in the contract and pay him the the $1.8 mil that sack of **** Gattis gets

Sorryrio better be contacting potential OC now

Radakovich isn't gonna force Mario to make changes. I'd be surprised if Radakovich has ANY actual authority over Mario..he's there to get resources from the University for the athletic programs (not football specifically). Football is basically it's own department now ran by Zo and Mario. And nobody will force Mario's hand for at least 5 years.

Best we can hope for is Mario sees and does what's needed on his own with Zo advising/pressuring him.

didnt we clamor for this though. have a GM of football and they run the show?

Gattis didn't hire a single member of his staff. Its no excuse, but ****. The next OC HAS TO have his own guys.

I had no issue with Mario bringing Mirabel with him and I doubt his position on staff is negotiable for the next OC either way.
Field not playing Arroyo is unforgiveable but at least he recruits. And TE coach is the least of our concerns.

The other 2 though.. Smith has added absolutely nothing. Not on the field or recruiting wise. I haven't read about a single recruit, let alone a RB recruit, mentioning their relationship with Kevin Smith as their reason for considering Miami.

Ponce needs to go. Full stop.
I posted about it a couple weeks ago. Practically every OC with a pulse also coaches his QB. I don't think the next OC should be forced to coach WR "because.. technically he can." The OC needs to be the guy coaching the most important position in sports.
And until Ponce is gone, we need to worry about him being the OC in waiting.
I'm basically here.
