Why Kiffin?

The reason Mario is ahead of lane for me is that he is a program builder and develops a culture. Lane does not and will not. Our culture is rotten like three day old guac. Mario will correct that imo over time. I think first year record advantage goes to lane. But long term health goes to Mario. Mario will also take us to our recruiting ceiling. You can’t convince that Any coach in the country aside from sabag will recruit better at Miami than Mario

I wish this board had a requirement for ever naysayer of Candidate A or Candidate B (Mario / Kiffin) if you were going to complain why you didnt like them, you had to also indicate who your preferred replacement candidate is snd why.

Is Mario or Kiffin a guarantee to crush it at a Miami??? Absolutely not, but it’s pretty hard to argue that it’s those two are at the top and then a giant step down to the next tier of candidates
 
Lane is an elite Gameday coach and a great recruiter. His first recruiting class at UTK was ranked 8th and his 2nd one before he left for USC was ranked up to #3. I was in Knoxville when he had it booming during recruiting, his personality with recruits is electric. I had a few players on the team and they all said he was different. Met Bryce Brown and he loved him at UTK. Then he had the #3 ranked class two year straight at USC but also had to deal with the penalties.

Then he worked himself back up the ranks from FAU and was WINNING. Lane was my first choice before we hired Richt, but I think it’d be a perfect fit now with the school investing more into the football program.

This is the stuff that ***** programs. Harbaugh is a Michigan Man. That’s worked out GREAT for them
 
No one is perfect, we are looking for the right fit. Kiffin would fit in great down here, the offense would become explosive under him.

Neither is coming here, so we can all stop acting like we have a choice in the matter. Weeks of arguing going to be shut down in 5 seconds when the media asks each about the job and you hear “I am not leaving Oregon, I am perfectly happy with what we are building here”, then the same for Oxford.

There's obvious overlap with the two but the love affair with Luigi I believe is way more fortified by the Columbus High ties with many than the Cuban lineage.

Manny is Cuban (although slightly faux in some eyes) but it's not like that dude enjoyed blanket support or any extra of a leash from the Cubans in our fanbase. Only weirdos of all backgrounds that must be abusing anti-depressants or MDMA are the ones that still support him or supported him too long.

If Luigi went to Palmetto or Killian or was a Lebatard-type Cuban from Broward I think there probably would still be a cult (he IS a former player) but I don't think it would be nearly AS devoted.

Does Kiffin lose to Stanford? I highly doubt it.

Does Kiffin beat OSU at OSU? People might reflexively say absolutely not but we're also forgetting that OSU's QB was definitely still very green at that point and OSU as a team had yet to find a groove. Oregon loses that game by double digits if replayed at OSU now.

Give Luigi props for winning with a junk QB? Absolutely. But you also then have to look at his whole body of work with QBs and we get back to what he did (or didn't do) with a QB that some consider to be a possible future face of the NFL.

Some of y’all haven’t bagged a chick in years yet are *****ing you came home and found two attractive ones in your bed (not 10s but each hard 8s). House rules are you can only bang one, so you geniuses will spend the rest of the night seeing if either has VD while wishing a fictional third chick was there. Just for arguments sake wouldn't you say that's on the HC who is known for recruiting for not being able to recruit anyone better than Anthony Brown who he brought in a GT?

Its not really a less is more when the rest of the roster is arguably more talented than Ole Miss.
 
At the end of the day Nick Saban isn't walking through the door so any coach we get is going to have some fleas. Think about the thread Lu started a couple days ago, we need to change the entire system not just the coach.
