Why do some people light Butch up for leaving. Lying? Can't someone change their mind? I blame the UM administration for not presenting him with a fair contract. They were trying to make up for past contract mistakes.

contract was fair, dude lied and chased the money. No problem w/ putting family first but he needs to stop the BS and acting like he was a neglected house wife who was pushed to stray on her marriage.

I think his teams put 25 first round picks into the NFL over five years. That's a record that will never be broken. But as a coach, nothing separates him from anyone not named Schnellenberger, Johnson, or Erickson.

UNC sealed the deal for me with regards to Butch. Building the team that UM had during the late 90s and early 2000s was great. But going on and building another talented team in a different region, at a different time, is something not many people can do. Had it not been for the scandal, that team could have been really special.

I remember watching Bruce Carter (the UNC LB) playing against LSU and wondering where Butch found this kid. He was 240 lb, ran like the wind, and was all over the field. Top coaches always have something the makes them better than the rest. Malzahn and Chip Kelly are X&O guys. Saban is drills his guys into making the 'right' play. Butch is probably the best talent evaluator in the business. If he wants back at UM, we should be so lucky, especially given the hires we had since he left.

If butch never left... Miami would have had the same dynasty they had in the 80's. SABAN and Carroll would have never had the roll they had if he was still here and never left. Other than 01 I think we would have had no less than 4 more championships. With that being said, I don't he will or should come back.... We need a younger and smarter head coach than what we have now and butch.... I hated butch from 97 all the way up 2 the fsu game in 00.he finally turned the corner that yr then left us.... No hard feelings but can't live in the past with head coaches.
