Here's an audio interview with Blake James from after the season. This guy is a complete joke and this is just a reminder why we need Blake AND Golden gone, not just Golden.

Here are some quotes in case you don't want to listen to the whole thing...

Q: How do you see the state of the program...?

"The reality is different people are going to look at games differently...I think there are a lot of things to look at as a real positive... and a lot of things for our guys to get excited about..."




Dude is totally complacent and fine with losing...

Q: How about being 6-6...?

"6-6. We’re 6-6 this year. Any time you go into a season you want to win all your games. Reality is that doesn’t always happen... I think it’s important we keep things in perspective and recognize everyone is going out there trying to win. On any given Saturday 50 percent of the teams aren’t doing it."


Then the ************ goes on to gloat about mooching off the ACC...

Q: UM isn’t likely to discuss what you receive... but there was a story last week that said the ACC pool was going to be $90-95 million ....How is it nice that all of a sudden these coffers are going to be a lot more filled really quickly?

"It’s a huge win for our institution and for our program. It’s the guarantee of knowing that revenue is going to come every year. So when I’m doing my budget – and I’m doing it right now – I look out for the next 10 years and know what revenues are going to be coming in for the most part through the agreements we have in place. (goes on and on gloating about this) "


In total contrast to that, he's totally clueless when it comes to actual questions about football. So the question is, you want HIM picking your next head coach?

Q: Do you feel like the Florida State game and the way you played it and ended impacted the performance of the last two games and how disappointed were you in that?

“Al’s probably the best one to answer that question....as close as I am to the program I don’t know all the ins and outs of everything that’s going on...I don’t want to take away from Virginia and Pittsburgh for doing the job they did...I know that’s something Al and the guys will be working on."

And here he is defending Al Golden after going 6-7...

Q: Do you feel any differently about this coaching staff now than you did at this time a year ago?

"No. This time a year ago we were just coming off what was a very interesting season, one in which we had the NCAA sanctions handed down...We started out (good) and then hit a few bumps down the road... I think it’s important to keep it in perspective. So to answer your question I don’t feel any different...As I’ve said numerous times over the past few weeks, he’s our coach. He’s going to continue to be our coach...."

The guy is trying to stick the program with a 40,000 seat stadium which would all but destroy it, how he is still employed is incomprehensible. Any competent athletic director would have fired Golden already. Complete loser.

The guy is a complete loser and was one of Shalala's many lap dogs.

He has zero backbone and is extremely underqualified for his position.

If you want to get really f*cking furious, just compare his resume to the ADs at UF, Bama, USC, FSU, Texas, etc etc.

It's absolutely pathetic. Blake James has no business being an AD anywhere.

He needs to be fired yesterday.

Donna is a clintonite. Their MO has always been to fill every position available with their own hand picked cronies. Blake James was her hand picked tool.

He has no desire to have our football team compete for national championships. Its just not in his job description.

We'll see how it plays out but I fully expect the new presidente' to be equally as indifferent. I have to wonder how many more years UM can continue to be considered a football school.

I don't agree with all of the Blake James hate. He's in an impossible spot with Donna leaving and Al's contract. There is no doubt in my mind that he fires Al after another disappointing season. Hopefully Charlie Strong has a disastrous season in Austin.

And I don't see how some of you guys think its automatic Golden is getting canned after what will assuredly be a disappointing 2015 season.

Under Shalala, James was nothing more than a puppet. He took his cue solely from a School President and BOT that cultivated a culture that destroyed UM football.

LOL at James praising garbage ACC teams like Pitt and UVA and giving us the whole "you win some, you lose some crap" like Stephen Morris did.

It's almost surreal that a program with a history as rich as UM's is surrounded by figureheads with this type of mentality.

Unless things drastically change under Frenk - and I doubt they will - its only going to be more of the same. The success of the football program is simply not a priority for UM anymore.
 
That was the softest sports related interview i have ever heard. I know you posted the transcript but is there any chance you could include the video of him crotcheting his wife a d!€k sock while he gave the interview. Thanks

More important than getting rid of golden is getting rid of Blake. Unfortunately that's not happening any time soon. A good AD is the foundation for a competent well run athletic department. As long as Blake is around that's not gonna happen.

In all seriousness, I really wonder who is Flake's puppeteer now. We obviously have very limited exposure but it doesn't seem like Frenkenstein wants to be hands on with athletics. If so, I'd actually hope The Tomato King acts as defacto AD- not because he's done anything fantastic but at least he seemingly prioritizes sports somewhat and is probably an alpha male. Best case scenario is Frenk allowing those that are actually interested in the program to exercise influence- influence that may have been restrained in the past by Shalala's presence.
 
Let's be honest, dude was a ticket salesman from an offbrand school in the East Coast; of course he's a weak AD! He knows nothing about sports. Maybe he should be an Assistant AD as far as fund raising, but as far as sports decisions, come on...he's incompetent at best. I don't blame him; I blame those who hired him. I blame the university for continually taking the cheap route, and going after unqualified guys. They are still living in the 80's and early 90's, where buying cheap was acceptable. College football wasn't as big. Now, college football rivals the NFL in popularity. Boosters are paying big money, and admins are doing everything in their power to make sure their programs remain at the top. We need to step into the 21st century ASAP.
