Why does everyone think that N.C. is so far ahead than The U as a football program

Right now they have to be considered a higher ranked team than us and we're on about an equal upward trajectory. They'll start next year in the top 10. Top qb,good transfer rb,three talented wrs and all 5 starters back on the ol. They won't be as good on offense. Carter and Williams are big losses. Chandler can be a good rb but he's not that good.

Their defense has alot coming back. I think they've got 9 starters back and some good talent from a really good class. Mack is getting those 4 and 5 star dlineman like he had in the 90s. Grimes and mcmichael at cb and conley is a **** good nickel. Their talent on both sides is rising. They'll be the main competition for the coastal for the foreseeable future and a hump we must overcome. Manny needs to show he can beat them next year to win the coastal
 
Recency bias. Last seen, we got smoked in historic fashion by said team.

We can’t continue to worry about what others think. Unfortunately, until we prove it on the field, we’ll be stuck in the potential category. Whether people r bullish on us or pessimistic, in either scenario we gotta do our part in either proving them right (who are bullish) or prove them wrong (who have reservations). ****, f the media....we got the same feel here! Lol.

Recency bias plays a big part in hype. When the national media looks at the ACC, they say “Clemson is the top program but who’s after them?” Well, North Carolina and Miami had the next best seasons but North Carolina beat the crap out of Miami so they get to claim the #2 hype spot. That’s how this stuff works. UNC won the big game between the two so their losses to FSU and Virginia tend to get forgotten. They won the head to head so they deserve the hype. They’re not miles ahead. The programs are both stuck in that “kind of good but not really good” spot in college football which will put you in the top 25 but not the top 10. I think if Miami is going to make the jump, beating UNC is a must this year. In 2019, they held UNC to 96 yards on 36 carries so it’s not like they’re some unstoppable juggernaut that we’re destined to get trounced by. Miami has to start taking them more seriously and can’t sleepwalk against them.

Mack Brown has had a minimum of 4 losses his past 6 coaching seasons and 4 of those came at a school where he had a massive talent advantage over every team except Oklahoma

It does? Please explain. Is it not a fact that we're 2-4 in the last 6?

Here's the numbers vs. UNC:

We've 0-2 in the last 2
We're 2-2 in the last 4
We're 2-4 in the last 6
We're 4-4 in the last 8
We're 5-5 in the last 10
We're 6-6 in the last 12
We're 6-8 in the last 14

I have no idea what agenda people have. It's clear we're not a materially better team than UNC and haven't been for 15 years. They've also won 3 bowl games over that period, to 1 for Miami.

Mack brown is a proven head coach and is connected like a ****. People in the media want NC to succeed. Diaz is unproven and Miami has consistently provided false hope for the past 20 years. No one is going to and they shouldn’t hype us up until we actually earn it.

plus they just walked into our house less than 3 months ago, took our wives and kids and kicked us to the curb.

Manny's great at making changes, then making them again when the last ones didn't work. We should wait to see how it goes before proclaiming it's all perfect this time around.

No coach in my adult lifetime has consistently done less with more.

Who would hire any of those four to run a decent P5 program today?
