Why are they playing thread...

Chain of command is important but Ponce didn’t get hired by gattis
I understand but professionals make it work. He isn't supposed to be sabotaging the guy. I'm not saying he is I was responding to someone who said he was and idk if that is true or not, but if it is true it is very troubling.

Look, even if Gattis's offenses suck (which they do) the product on the field has been so far below average its hard to believe a guy would've remained employed anywhere for more than a year if this is the best they can do.

Gattis should be able to trust his direct reports to prepare his vision. Our QBs look completely lost. It is unusual to have a OC not be QB coach, but maybe that is part of why they've looked so lost because QB coach and OC have been coaching different principles.

Not sure but I'm not ruling anything out this offense and season has been an absolute disaster.

I still believe it can be turned around but Mario better have learned from his mistakes and the mistakes of our staff if he wants to be successful here

DJ scaife can false start a 100 times and still some will say he is good player.. Guys like him and flagg will be pumped up in offseason and then some will wonder why we suck next year.. Its a looong list of players who have a ton of experience but the experience is they suck but we still play them over the young players.. We get same result and these more experienced players seem to get worse, blowed out by more and we STILL GET THE L in ugly fashion.. The morale of team must be terrible because guys like Scaife look like they give ZERO FUUCKS but still feel entitled to start
And Middle Tennessee State has lost every game since they bent our more experienced players over. Edit Note…I read record incorrectly, they won one more game.

ponce doesn't run this offense and hasn't if im not mistaken. he was hired to assist the wrong OC in the wrong scheme. Mario didnt properly identify the right position coaches nor did he give his coordinators the chance to point out their preferred guys at the key positions to install their scheme.

alos, yes most OCs double as QB coach.

I heard McCoy was nicked. They like those two and feel less favorably about Seymore so I don’t think it’s a coach’s pet situation.

Seymore really is physically outmatched and not suited to big time P5 football. I'd keep Denis and Logan but they really shouldn't be in the top 7 rotation next year. Outside of Rivers, Clarke and Cooper, I don't think anyone else on this roster will be in the top 8 rotation next year. Francis and (hopefully) Samson will take up 2 spots and the other 2-3 spots will be portals. Hopefully McCoy can step up but he might be another year away.

Mario will rehaul the OL next year much like he did the DL this year. FSU had 3 of their 5 starters picked up from the portal and they have one of the best running attacks in the country.

The issue is how he's handling it as a professional.

Ponce is QB Coach + Passing Game Coordinator.

Gattis is being a complete ******* (just being honest) and is not taking Ponce's input in the passing game. For what reason, I don't know.

Mario is made aware, who corrects it from a leadership perspective, but does not begin to follow thru as a leader to ensure his remedy is being applied.

Ponce retreats and is just coaching the QB's as an unassociated QB coach would do in the off-season (working on broad concepts, fundamentals, etc.) along with limited film review and drills for present scheme.

That side of the ball is a complete disaster.
Much of what you said was reported this morning on ON3's morning podcast. Shodell mentioned that he has heard multiple times, going back to earl;y in the season, that Ponce and Gattis are instructing the QBs to execute in different ways. It's made for a great deal of confusion and I'm sure by now, complete distrust by the offensive guys.....

people want to rag on DJ ivey. You know who keeps busting coverage and not tackling? Al Blades and James Williams.

Here is my song lyric for Al:

Go play your video game

Al Blades Jr. epitomizes all that is wrong with this program.

When his dad showed up in mid-90s he and all the other underclassmen were dogs that wanted to emulate the 80s era Canes and they took over a busted-up, lazy locker room Dennis Erickson left behind.

Now you've got Son Of Al and nephew of Brian and Bennie running around doing TikTok dances and legitimately only playing football to keep his blue checkmark and social media verification.

Never seen a more bad-*** family produce a bigger lost football soul. This is is just tragic out there.

also explains why the QBs look like they haven't played football ever. honestly, if there aren't massive staff changes, I dont expect either QB to stick around (Garcia and TVD). if thats the case, next year w a tougher schedule will be even worse

The kid grew up without his fathers guidance. I would consider that part very tragic. It's most likely why he acts the way he does off the field and lacks the killer instinct on it.

If that's true....then I honestly don't know what tf to say....

Mario and Mirabal brought with them Sagapolu and Denis and they are no better than the incumbents who were here even after 3 years of being coached up by the great Cristobal and Mirabal.
More than likely they were brought in not as starters but as examples of what Mario and Mirabel expect. You need guys like that who are player/coaches.
