Who obsesses over spring "game" attendance?

I think my situation although anecdotal might be representative of the issue with the "sellout" and it might not have even been that avoidable and at least part of the fault lies with the fans.

Excitement is obviously up this year so 4 guys in my group of 10 immediately grabbed 6 seats each before accurately getting real rsvps from everyone. Free tix will allow for this indiscriminate approach. So in the end we had 24 seats and only put butts in 16 of those seats.

Same thing on the parking front (although there seem to have been some larger "infrastructure" issues at play there). We ended up with like 4 or 5 yellow passes and the school ended up giving my boy a couple of blue passes so only 2 of those yellow passes got used.

Soooo I think that this mostly resulted from a good thing in overall fan excitement created a lot of the issues coupled with some irresponsibility on our end too with an assist from the school's marketing dept and on-site parking issues.

If excitement is at the same level next year and it's at BuyAVowel Stadium again we should just charge $5 a seat and give people a free beer or soda with the ticket. Parking is above my pay grade but you'd think it'd be fixable.

I can’t speak for all Canes fans, but the gaytor base and nolie base spend way more time thinking about our program than I spend thinking about theirs.
You CAN speak for **** near all Canes on this matter. 😀

We don’t like them mostly because there can only be one top dog in our state.

They don’t like us because of everything “Miami” and “The U” and “Canes have more National Championships than we do” means to the vast majority of both of their fan bases.

I don't like most UiF fans as people in general.

This should have been anticipated by the marketing department. When you have free tickets you have to expect a certain percentage of no-shows.

As well, UM marketing exacerbated the problem by hyping up that its going to be a sellout.

Plus let’s make sure we understand that it being televised on the ACCN is a huge factor here too. If it wasn’t on TV I think you get 3-5k more people there

For what it is i can see people staying home to watch. Enjoyed the former players on the sidelines.

The only fair thing to do would be to have the folks fretting over attendance argue with the folks melting down over parking….

A ******* showdown …

Attendance has always been and will always be just a weak argument for rivals. LOL if that's what they hang their hats on.

Supposedly the traffic situation turned away thousands, but regardless if the Nolies are banking on attendence to save them when they come to Hard Rock they are in for a rude awakening.
Is there a dumber fanbase in America than Florida States? Serious question.
