Where is the Gators hype coming from?

Lagway completed more than 14 passes in a FBS game once last season, it was against Tulane where he threw 1TD and 2 INTs and they had 16 points through 3Q

TrumpyCane could give 2 ***** about "potenial", he hasn't been even average.

You know who else showed potential, Kyle Wright. Look what a terrible coaching staff did to him

Did my undergrad there. Was a pretty good D2 team at the time, early 2000s. Post season a few years. Then they did the stupid thing and moved up. They don't have the ability to be a good program above D2.
 
I don’t think Florida has an elite offensive line, when I watch DJ Lagway highlights, he’s always under pressure.

Billy Napier is an OFFENSIVE minded coach, but the Gators won games behind their defense.

I got Florida going 7-5 with an upset over Texas (Home game, off a bye, before the OU game).

I’ll have a prediction preview post in a couple weeks of all the Florida schools with bets to place.

When I read their schedule, I was stunned.
 
I hate the gators with a passion and I live in jax and it was awesome at my job to rub it in all my gator friends face, after the 41-17 but whipping. But I am not naive, the gators have a very good roster in 2025 (Especially at RB, receiver. lagway & the back 7 on defense is formidable (not great). I am hoping for a butt whipping again, but I expect a close hard fought game with us coming out on top of course. I think the Gators will finish 8-4 (they are more of a 18-25 ranked team), not sure why some analyst have them in top 10 (lagway will only have 6 starts against P4 team when he faces us).

I think Dmoney and others are over-looking them a little. The Two wilsons (dallas and eugene) and baugh and jakobi at rb, along with the ucla receiver will be a handful. Their oline is solid this year.
They do not have much of pass rush from their dline, so they will have to send linebackers and safeties on blitz, which will leave gaps in their D, and i think that is where we make our hay and beat them 28-24.

The reality is UF in all likelihood will be coming into the game against us (Miami) 2-1 after a double digit/physical loss to LSU.

Miami will have a chance to basically bury UF season and drive a nail in their coach’s coffin potentially.

It’s a must win. Miami should be able to if needed completely dominate the LOS and win a physical low scoring game just off trench advantage alone.

UF is extremely overrated. This is a team whose season can only go well if we allow them to win a game they have zero business being able to hang in.

This, and he’s good but he still had what 12 tds and 9 ints last year. I get he was true freshman but those aren’t eye popping.
 
I don’t know much about their roster, but that schedule is brutal. I doubt they finish top 25. If they do, respect earned.

He just started throwing 3x a week.

Also, his shoulder injury goes back to high school. He reinjured it this past season, and needs surgery, which they chose to postpone until after this season. They rested him for spring due to the shoulder, hamstring, and core injury.

Re: the OL, it’s getting hype because it’s returning pretty much everyone, but the only one worth a **** is the center. The OL was so disastrous in 2023 that Billy put TWO full-time OL coaches on in 2024, and still got both his QBs killed.

QB depth is not good, there really isn’t anyone behind Lagway.

Defense is mid, as the kids say.

Billy will not get fired this year. The new president just got picked and boosters want a new AD first.
 
The back 7 is the supposed strength of their roster but their secondary got absolutely destroyed by the backup quarterbacks in their spring game.
