Defense tightening up the outside.
OFFENSIVE LINE
The pass protection was very good against App State.

It's been a long time since its been fun watching the defense play. It's been even longer to see all this positive energy around the program.
We head into the bye 3-0, getting healthy, and begin entering ACC play.
Although we're 3-0 and have looked much, much better than before, we can improve in some areas. One thing I noticed the last couple of weeks against FAU and App Store is that sometimes we sacrifice gap integrity for all out pressure, and we've been gashed for long TD runs (although one was called back). I personally would like to see a slight bit more gap integrity and a reduction of off side penalties (on both sides).
What have you gents, and ladies, noticed that you would like to see improve after the bye?

It was terrible against FAU, so it was a big improvement.
OL. Punt returns needs to improve. Maybe force more turnovers. But at the same time, we are still playing so vanilla, it's difficult to tell what really needs to improve.

Nope. Gap integrity as the cost of aggressive violence is the golden brick road. Meet me at the QB and play run along the way is our best plan. Let the big dogs hunt without a collar. Notice on the first long td run, Corn ran the guy down and took him out of the game. THat is Cane defense. DO not fear the big play but rather bring fear to the other team for their welfare.
