What Would You Like To See Improve

Kayaa's decision making. Too many ints against lesser opponents.
True, sh*t happens, he has the same td/int rationas watson but with 11% better completion rate

How does Watson's play impact Miami football?

Just saying he is not the only one throwing picks to lesser competition.

But Watson isn't walking in the door to compete with him, so I'm not concerned with Watson until I need to be. In the meantime, Kaaya needs to continue his development and avoid happy feet because those feets aren't going anywhere fast, as mobility is not his game. Although a really solid game at App St., I'm more concerned about corrections going forward - I'd have to watch it again, but on the INT he made multiple mistakes and almost got hurt to boot.

I agree, njoku was open if he would have thrown high to the endzone

And he lost track of App St's best player. Then thought it would be smart to get entangled with the lineman. I'd be interested in seeing the number of times the QB gets the better end of the deal when trying to defend a turnover return.

Better backs like Cox will punish our pursuit angles with cutbacks.

Dalvin is running free as we speak.

Gotta sure up the backside contain. Would really like to see Rayshawn and Jam tackle more consistently too. Thought they've been spotty.

I'll live with the frosh issues in coverage. Those will only be exploited by UNC, FSU, ND and they benefit from having a defensive line that ain't really interested in your 5 step drops.

I like the whole O-Line except for Darling who is out of position. He may have trouble on obvious passing downs.

From the small sample size and poor quality opponents:
OL
LB coverage
Return kicks

and the only answer to this question is simple - OL OL OL OL OL . We have elite qb , elite rb , elite wr , the best TEs , elite DE , elite young LB , elite Cb but we need OL to step up as the talent is there .

Berrios to get more catches. Dude can get open, but isn't being thrown to. I'm quite surprised he isn't targeted more than twice a game.

What? LOL One of Kaaya's strengths is he doesn't turn the ball over a ton . Now he struggles under pressure but even then he doesn't turn it over much .

Statistically-Kaaya struggles in the Red zone mightily. In his career he has 7 of his 20 pics in the RZ and has a QB rating near the bottom every year in the RZ. 20 pics in 3 years is not bad but 7 in the RZ is too high.

How do you know those picks weren't the cause of something other than the QB?

He may not turn it over much but he still he has a way of stalling out drives because he is no threat to run. On the goal line when he threw the pick, it would have worked wonders if the D was slightly concerned he may pull the ball and run with it. His lack of ability in the run game may not show itself all the time but it does affect parts of the game when you need it or need the threat of it.

We probably have more pressing problems, but I'll go with penalties. It's baffling that we can be one of the most penalized teams every single year. This has been a problem since randy was around, and I can't see why it should persist through 3 different staffs. Sure, we get called for being Miami now and then, but it's mostly on the players/coaches. Hopefully CMR irons it out and we stop giving up 100 yards per game.

Penalties, turnovers, short yardage/goal line situations.

If we can improve upon these things as the weeks go by we can beat anyone on our schedule soundly.
