Based on what we heard before the season started, the fact this team is in the semifinals without Lofton or Trader being major contributors. All the talk was that those two were going to explode this year.

Our DTs stepped up. Blay was as advertised, Scott took the next step but most importantly Moten took a major jump and emerged as an NFL player.

I didn’t expect both Thomas and Scott to be this good.

Also didn’t expect Mali to become a national sensation.

The quick turn around on defense and how aggressive and violent they are. So pleasing to watch the gang tackling and hard hits.

The play of the DBs. By a MILE. Especially the safeties and Scott.

Think about it. We all had years taken off our lives watching whatever the **** that was in the entire back 7 last year.

This year we bring in a mostly backup from Tennessee that they didn’t break the bank to keep.

We bring in a G5 kid who played great last year but again, at the G5 level. Far from a sure thing.

And we bring in a kid who Auburn would’ve personally driven down here had we asked. A complete afterthought for them.

And they go on to completely flip the entire defense on his head, Keionte probably wins the **** Thorpe Award if he doesn’t get hurt, Thomas was the best player on the entire field in the FSU game, Fitzgerald is the lone player who was a non-early enrollee and leads the **** P4 in picks, Poyser has been an ERASER all year.

There is a lot that has to go right to go from what we had to what we have. But my biggest surprise is how completely different this secondary is from last year to this year.

The entire defense. But in general to watch so many recently dominant teams and feel like we can battle or simply better than them in multiple positions.

Also to realize how close we are to like being what we know Miami is.

Malachi Toney , thought he’s okay out of high school , nothing too special. He’s been a top tier WR/Weapon in the country…..just needs to stop fumbling
