I mentioned on another thread about adding more trick plays and your post is a good idea of what I meant. I don’t think we’ve seen Toney run the option or actually throw from the wildcat. If I’m not mistaken, he’s only run up the middle from the wildcat. In addition, it would be nice to see some new Mali-Cat bag plays.
Run right at Howell and wear him down.Use the whole field.
I personally want to see more perimeter runs with Pringle and quick strikes by Beck to the spot where the blitzer has vacated. But I definitely want to also see some Fletcher and CharMar smash mouth and a few verticals to Daniels and Marion. Toney will do what Toney does.
Just be multiple and take what the defense gives you because they will leave space open.
I also read somewhere yesterday that they are nearly last in FBS (132nd I think I remember) in yards allowed after contact, something like 3.9 yards after contact allowed. These stats alone play right into what our offensive identity is. Tailor made for Fletcher’s straight ahead physical game. The PFF stat where TAMU is 115th in nation against inside zone runsgiving up 5.5 a clip.
We need 1 or 2 five to seven yard runs by Beck to PTSD them from what Arch did running on them.Don’t need a script, but let’s step into Dawson’s seat for a second. What should the Canes be doing in this matchup?

he went from an average of 7 touches the first 8 games to an average of 12 touches last 4 gamesLimit turnovers. Use Pringle more than fletcher.
Less WR screens.
Toney needs to touch the ball at least 15 times.
More jet sweeps and motion to open up the inside runs for Fletcher.
Push the ball downfield so the don’t drop safeties into the box.
Limit pre-snap penalties. It must stop.

I'm going to be very controversial here:
Score more points than aTm
The only way to fly. Put constant pressure on the defense and force it to defend the entire field, not just the LOS. Every drive should be started with the intention of scoring, not manipulating stats nor chewing up clock.Score early & often.
