What level does Ahmmon Richards reach this year?

He has Cooper on top end speed but not the route runner Cooper is......Cooper is smooth like juedy.....Richards is elite though regardless he knows how to create space hes pretty much open all the time. Teams will gameplan for him he may get doubled so guys like Harley and Thomas can open things up alot.

Richards has better hands than Coop. Richards jumps out of the building as well. He's more physical than Coop. The only problem I could possibly see this year is the double team coming his way often, but even then, give Richards a quick slant and he could house it easily. I see Richards, if healthy, reaching All American status.

Coop still should've been a Cane, but he used to drop some easy dimes at Bama and he's doing the same thing at the next level too. Leads the league in dropped passes two years in a row (and I know b/c I got that **** on my fantasy team). Richards has stupid hands. He got robbed on that sick one handed, back shoulder throw against Pitt, too. That was one of the sickest TDs I saw (although they called him down at the 1 inch line). Richards was a god send to us, bro. Like, I haven't been this excited about a WR here since AJ.

I think it's going to depend on if he's the focal point of the offense, or if he's used how he was last year just with more targets. If he's the focus, and Richt manufactures touches for him on top of normal plays, he could put up AA numbers this year. If he's running stops/comebacks/flies and the QB can't get the timing down, I could see a slight downturn from last year with the slot/TE/RB taking more production.

I want to see him win more at the catch point. He didn't have to much last year because he was usually open, but that's the next step for him.

75/1200/8 if things go well. 60/900/5 should be the floor of a healthy year.

One thing about coach richt I noticed is. If he likes you he will feed you the ball.
 
All I know is this:

By the end of 2016 Kaaya, Richards, Coley, Njoku were performing beautifully.

Three of those four are now in the NFL, and it's quite possible that we're worse on offense in 2017.

It's also equally possible that the incoming players adapt quickly and we soon forget all about those players from last year. It can go either way depending on several variables.

So do I...but off note, Imma need Dorsett to step it up this year. He shows flashes and then just disappear. I need him to rep this U a bit harder than what I've seen.

People say this every year
Where would the offense come from when duke, Walford and Dorsett left? That's the question many on this board asked
Then after 2015, it was asked again where will the production again come from?
Then we had freshman all American put us 900 plus yards , coley 9 tds 700 plus season, njoku 8 tds 698 yards...

Players come ago and PRODUCTION is going to come REGARDLESS

We had stability at QB in those years. It's different with the uncertainty at QB, brock. I agree that we have guys who will produce and the potential is there to surpass last year's production but that's a big leap to make.
 
Obviously the talent is there. I'm trying to temper expectations because of the QB, the attention, losing Coley/Njoku etc

Wouldnt shock me if he had a "slump" in numbers this year. Also wouldn't shock me if he was in the Heisman race.
 
The QB situation (until we see otherwise) is worse, and I expect fewer total passing yards and passing TD this year;
He will get more attention from other D-coords with Coley gone and his production from last year putting him on notice.

comparable stats, possibly a small drop off. Not because he plays worse, circumstances were just a little better for him in 2016 than they will be in 2017 I believe.

Of course, a lot will depend on who's getting him the ball and how. Some things to consider:

- Richards just turned 19 a few months ago. For comparison, Calvin Ridley will turn 23 this season.
- Richards excels on underneath routes just as well as vertical routes. We've watched him execute both at an elite level. His route tree is limitless.
- Richards seems to be a focused dude who wants to be great. While he's already gained size, if you meet his pops (see the gene pool), you'll probably wonder just how big Richards can get.
- Whether or not opposing defenses focus on him game in, game out, it's Richt and crew's jobs to move him around the board to get him matchups and clear out for his teammates.

He's bigger, has more top-end speed and a better catch radius. I understand the comparison in terms of being "smooth" and having acceleration, but I see a different style of player. I see something unique in Richards.

I usually don't like playing this game, but the comparison I like for Richards is Reggie Wayne. Similar build and athleticism. Similar ability to catch balls in traffic and break tackles. He's special.

I think he can be more productive (touchdowns-wise) depending on if one of the stronger-armed QBs wins the job. As exciting as AR was last year, it was maddening how many times he was underthrown by Kaaya. Had to adjust on almost every deep ball and its evident on the highlights. If someone can get the ball out in front, AR scores running away every time like he did on Dean in the scrimmage.
 
Regarding touchdowns, It seems like his scores last year were on crisp routes that he took a long way to paydirt. Amen Ahmmon was the most complete wideout I have seen as a true freshmen in the NCAA in a long time. He has good hands, runs great routes, tremendous size, strength, and leaping ability with gamebreaking homerun speed, when all is said and done I imagine this kid will own the majority of if not all the UM receiving records. He is affectionately known as Amen Ahmmon in our house. Remember watching him pick up the hat on signing day...also remember arguing with a friend last season early on as to whether or not he was already better than coley.
