#WelcomeToTheU Ty Gauthier

Im starting to notice a trend with our o lineman that has committed. They are all great run blockers, who play both sides of the ball. maybe they believe it translate to great fundamentals.

what i dont see it any pass blocking from these guys which concern me. Pass blocking is huge. I hope they know what they are doing.

The trend might be quicker, lighter guys who get to the second level. Leeward Brown might be the one who doesn't fit the possible mold.

Dude doesn't even have a recruiting profile page, sigh

How about welcoming the kid instead of taking time to trash the offer? The kids went to camp and showed enough to the coaches to get offered. We want kids that are willing to compete and work for an offer, that's what he did.
I'm not trashing the kid since he decided to show up and work for it, but **** near every kid that earned his offer by showing out at camp and then committing has turned out pretty poorly..

There's Mr. Sunshine!

Im sure first thing you did was check to see if he had an offer from FSU or SEC schools like a lot of complainers on here
whats wrong with that? Its pretty clear that some of those schools are evaluating talent better than we are.

You were probably one of those guys who busts a nut when we got dudes that Butch offered

In all honesty, there's nothing wrong with questioning the staff, just not in the thread welcoming the kid to the school. Seems like a slap in the face and again makes this fan base look rediculous IMO.

I would love to see a list of kids that committed during a Golden camp and how they turned out so far. Off the top of my head: Dortch, Jontavious Carter, , Vernon Davis, Larry Hope, Jake O'Donnell, Standish Dobard.

He didn't earn his offer at the camp. He had one in late February.

The tenacity and drive look legit.

I'd be lying if I said that there wasn't a little bit of star ***** in me, but OL seems to be the spot where services get it wrong & miss kids more than any other. I like him a lot more than some of the other OL/DL we've taken lately. Being big & aggressive can go a long way.... Wheeler was a pretty decent player for us with just those two qualities.

if you want to attack the coaching staff for player development or scheme, there's another forum for that, but this staff has done a really good job in finding and evaluating talent. give credit where it's due

We have had plenty of 3 star OL be successful here. This is a position where stars don't matter as much and could be a kid that blows up next year with Top 25 offers/stars and we will be glad we got on him early

We should only go with highly ranked guys. We became a factory because of dudes like Seantrel Henderson, Reggie Youngblood, Andrew Bain and Tyler McMeans. Scrappy, ruthless mofos who just knocked people's heads off.

Our new commit got dominated at the 1:15 mark or so..

I question taking players from Venice HS, they tend to look great but play soft. The only real competition they play all year is Manatee, who generally open a case of whoop *** on them.

Here is an article talking Venice HS an their weak schedule an how they need to strengten it, there is also a video interview of Tyler Gauthier.

Here is video from the Manatee vs Venice 2013 game, watch #76 in white that is UM's new OL commit Tyler Gauthier

I am hoping this guy pans out but also there is a long time before now and signing day in which a higher ceiling prospect could come on board an Gaullier could move on to another school. So I say welcome to the Family young man, lets see what happens

Go Canes

Dude's a great run blocker with good size, really good technique with great leg drive. Fires out low and keeps leverage, good eyes on the 2nd level stuff. Don't think he has the feet to be a college OT but showed enough to where he should be solid there at guard, looks like he anchors well enough but needs a lot of improvement with technique in pass pro.
