Week 7 college football random thoughts...

If * loses to Big Blue or Pedo St, and then not play in the B1G championship game...do they get into the dance? I hope not and Day gets **** canned for choking with a 20mm roster.
Good question.
I think they still make it in even if they lose to PSU. Michigan though at home I think may keep them out.

But it all depends on how things shake out in the SEC.

Both. It certainly makes losing a game like this one less painful (and therefore less "big"), but it also means that there will be more games later in the year that are now important when they wouldn't have been previously. Personally I am fine with these games being a little less important if it makes more games overall important, but that is only to a point... I think 12 is plenty for the playoff and any more will cheapen games too much.

I remember the uproar when MLB went to realignment of divisions and added the Wild Card. Purists absolutely hated it

And guess what?

It's actually been great for baseball and the post-season

The best thing about college football is how the narrative changes week to week. Teams are constantly rising and falling in the polls and with how they’re perceived.

Second half of the season going to be epic. 12 team playoff means literally the entire top 25 is still in it.

Like most of you, I watch a lot of football. Sometimes 2-3 games at a time. Those 4-5 commercial breaks are painful.....
I honestly think our Cam led offense can move the ball and score on any team in the country. If/when Rivers comes back we will be even more formidable. Our TE's are a mismatch for any defense....

I can see both UGA and Bama losing again in the regular season and not making the SEC Championship game. UGA to Texas and Bama to Tennessee this upcoming weekend are possible losses. Do they both get in as two loss teams into the 12 team playoff? Same with Ohio Taint, if they pick up a second regular season in conference loss and lose in the conference championship game, do they get in with three losses?

For my money, Cam and Sanders are 1-2 in CFB. And then I see a drop off. I don’t put Milroe or Aller in their category. I admittedly have not watched Ewers play.
I am certainly no Deion or Colorado fan but my top 5 players to watch in CFB are probably Cam, X, Sanders, Hunter, Jeanty

Or.........

I like the 12-team playoff.

I like the potential of rematches as it adds drama. An Ohio State-Oregon rematch in the B1G Championship only adds to the game. Yes, both likely get into the CFP but the winner gets a bye.

I never liked the 4-team CFP. For all the chatter of 12 teams ‘cheapens games’ what about the 96% of the teams whose season is essentially over by the end of October-early November.

The 12-team CFP combined with NIL and the transfer portal are bringing some parity to CFB. I was tired of 4 of the same 5-6 teams making the cut. Rarely watched a CFP or NC game.

Agreed. It was especially frustrating knowing **** well the top few teams were basically running an NIL program without it being legit

This. NIL has finally removed the biggest advantage those bag teams had. And the 12-team playoff keeps 20-30 teams in the hunt up until the last few games of the season. Makes it so much more interesting.
