Dude had 4.7 and 4.9 as a comparison. That’s how lost he is.The game film.
Shaq was 10 times the linebacker Flagg currently is. Go back and watch old games

There was a HS game where his school played another on ESPN and I aint gonna lie...he looked pretty impressive at MLB. There is a thread in the Recruiting Board archive of the game. There were alot of posters who were saying he looked like he could play MLB here with some development, including myself.I don’t want to pile on Flagg as everything has already been said
And I shouldn’t bother piling on Manny…but I’m gonna
What’s wild about Flaggs recruitment is how much of a priority Manny made him. I’m not against filling out the roster if you have to with some kids that are limited but can play ball, but Manny seemed to be looking at this kid going “there’s the one right there”

Yeah the kid is limited physically. It is what it is. Not sure why people keep watching him thinking next week it’s suddenly going to changeThere was a HS game where his school played another on ESPN and I aint gonna lie...he looked pretty impressive at MLB. That said, in order to get where we want to go.. Flagg cannot be starting in any capacity. Quality depth for a few series to give Popo Aguirre a breather here and there? Sure. But starting? No way. (and YES, I know you saw what I did there, Lol)
Exactly smh, I always preached it tooI remember posting “ y’all gonna miss him when he’s gone”. That guy cleaned up so much bs that nobody even noticed. There would’ve been multiple big plays a game that he put perfume over. We saw what happened the year after he left. Dude was a really good college mike.
Washington is a sub 4.5 guy. Aguirre has acceleration and twitch so straight line speed isn't as important. All three are athletic upgrades to the position with Aguirre looking the most ready to contribute early.Shaq was probably our defensive MVP his final two years at Miami. Flagg isn't anything like Shaq. He's more like a faster Jennings than a slower Shaq.
That said, I agree with @cway313 that Shaq should be our baseline athleticaly going forward. If we want to be national champions again, we should be looking for beasts at every position.
All the LBs we have committed in the 2023 class are as athletically gifted as Shaq, so we're on the right track. Malik Bryant, for example, posted a laser timed 4.72 40-yard dash at 235 pounds vs Shaq with a 4.78 at 234 pounds at the NFL Combine. Bryant is still in high school, Shaq was wrapping up college. I couldn't find Aguirre or Washington's times. But they look equally fast, probably more so.
Not sure any of them will turn into the next Ray Lewis. But we're headed in the right direction. Thank you Charlie Strong.
I’m excited about the group we have committed for sure plus a few on the roster alreadyWashington is a sub 4.5 guy. Aguirre has acceleration and twitch so straight line speed isn't as important. All three are athletic upgrades to the position with Aguirre looking the most ready to contribute early.
Bc it was the first week of the year and they were playing a high school team? Easy to get over excited but they’ll be more disciplined moving forwardGee I wonder why our pass rush is not disciplined
Yes you replied with a logical answer. I was more referring to our previous corch who told our guys to fly upfield like a fat kid to a buffetBc it was the first week of the year and they were playing a high school team? Easy to get over excited but they’ll be more disciplined moving forward
Their QBs were mobile. These guys will be getting coached up on contain responsibilities moving forward
Unless a player is perfect he is flawed. No player has ever been perfect lolShaq was better than Flagg. Shaq was still flawed. Both can be true.

Good thing I didn't trash him. It's almost like some here never learned the second part of reading.Unless a player is perfect he is flawed. No player has ever been perfect lol
Shaq was a great college LB. He wasn’t Perryman or at the level of some of the greatest ever for UM, but he was solid and a shining star in our defense for a long time. No reason to trash him
Everyone wants another Vilma or Ray Lewis. No one is arguing that Shaq is better than Vilma.Like I said some people want another Shaq some people want another Vilma(me).

There is also always room for a guy like Shaq on the roster.
It doesn’t make you Bill Belichick to want HOFers
People are probably just upset that you’re trashing and belittling guys that were good college players and did a lot for the program
You can say you want guys with more athleticism at the position without knocking guys who have bled and sweat for the program
Lol my reading comprehension isn’t the problem with your argumentGood thing I didn't trash him. It's almost like some here never learned the second part of reading.
Its funny some here wish they were ****** a 7. If we gone speak in hypotheticals I only want 10s. I won't apologize for not wanting to settle.Everyone wants another Vilma or Ray Lewis. No one is arguing that Shaq is better than Vilma.

@Cribby said Shaq was under appreciated while he was here and you went out of your way to say that it isn’t true and the bar is just set too low with Flagg and that Shaq wasn’t that good.
Nah I want 10s all around and so does everyone else on here. We just don’t **** talk the guys who put on for the program and we don’t live in a fantasy world where we can pretend that there are endless Vilma’s waiting to make Miami great again and anyone below that level isn’t good enoughIts funny some here wish they were ****** a 7.
