We need difference makers

We put up 41 offensive points vs Texas A&M, who have one of the top ranked defensive units in advanced metrics and people were amazed at the style of football we played in that game.

Now, vs FSU, we don't have the difference makers vs man coverage, something that we feasted on in the early parts of the season. At least thats the tune. It's obvious something has changed and its not the players.

Listen to @Coach Macho when he speaks. He was loud and ******* clear about it this week.

You know when Dalvin and Benson get the ball in the open field and your butt puckers? Whens the last time we had a rb make somebody’s butt somewhat pucker? Duke?
Walton, maybe. Deejay was good in the open field but by no means a world beater

Fletcher is OK but he’s no Frank Gore or Willis McGahee.

Does South Florida not produce talents like that anymore? Even a Duke Johnson or Lamar Miller would do great things for this offense but I haven’t seen anyone even of that level come out of South Florida in a while
Don’t get me wrong. He’s a good RB. But there were a few plays that a great RB would have broke it. Even Chaney could have probably broken that one.

I came away from this game more optimistic than most will I’m sure.

We really are a QB away already from being a legit team.

And we are doing it the right way. FSU is toast after this season.
I'm not following. They likely take a step back next year, but they have their best HS class (by a Panhandle mile) coming in next year. Their foundation is solid.

We have been a qb away+ for 20 years..

How’s recruiting look now 🫣
Thankfully the game was respectable from a score and boys competitions perspective and it wasn’t a blow out, which would 100% would’ve hurt us bad.

Still hurts in recruiting not to win this game but I am less concerned after the game from a result perspective than before this game.

Our coaching and how we look on the field hurts more than this loss. I wouldn’t want to play on this offense.

I would on this defense.

Yes, because Jacolby George quite literally had these plays all game ans Colbie Young did what Coleman and Wilson did all game: win jump balls.

We have B Smith and don't give him the ball. We have Ray Ray and we don't give him the ball. We have CJ and let him play one snap vs UNC and don't play him again after. We have Skinner and play Fletcher over him as a slot receiver. Imagine having one of the most explosive kick returners in the country and he has one touch vs NC State.

We have players. We're running a caveman system trying to get them the ball. And it's Mario's doing... bro.
You named alot of players who are unproven, not difference makers. I think we're debating two different things here. But I'm going to fall back on this debate because of course, I want them all to live up to their potential.

What continues to blow my mind is, how does Mario Cristobal play under Dennis Eriksen, one of the brightest offensive minds in CFB in the 80s and early 90s offensively with the one-back-spread to become such an offensive donkey?

@Brains

You want to really get mad at Mario for something, get mad about how our offensive line played. If that's going to be your bread and butter, at least be dominant with it.

They had like 6 false starts, and nobody on offense could pick up a blitz to save their life. Furthermore, how many third and short, fourth and short did we get straight stonewalled on? If we were going to win this game, we needed to be able to lean on that line and yet at best they were servicable in this game.
His line can’t run block, yet that’s all he wants to do. They are good in pass pro and he doesn’t want to do that. He can’t even highlight the talents of his own guys. He’s one of the dumbest coaches in America.

A&M was blowing coverages left and right lol. It’s cute you pull one game out of your *** and now it’s not him. Well UVA beat UNC at Unc does that price anything or do they still suck. Go watch FSU or any other creative offense put pressure on all three levels of the defense. With run pass options, constant motion / shifting and route concepts. I mean we ran an angle route to Brashard out of the backfield finally week 10 lol.

The offensive game plans are pathetic , two minute offense pathetic , route concepts pathetic , imagination pathetic, run game pathetic. No creativity.

Moat if our big plays are busted coverages or breakdowns lol. But keep telling yourself this isn’t a **** show offense.
