stop it man. The guy built a machine. If Saban stayed at LSU and never went to NFL, LSU would be where bama is.
To some extent, Saban benefits from not having to compete with other exceptional coaches who move on and achieve success at a higher level, like Jimmy Johnson.

Louisiana prolly has better and more instate talent than Alabama...and no Auburn to compete with for limited talent. Always amazed at how Saban builds such a machine having to rely on out-of-state talent.

Look Butch had a dynasty in his hands a bounced. Carroll did the same. So you have a valid point. Most top coaches want to try their hand at
NFL at some point.

BAMA is a storied program...that is located smack dab in the south bordering florida and georgia...in a state that produces sustainable talent as well. I was amazed at how much they suckled b4 him actually...it isnt that hard to win at bama.

He’s surrounded by Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, and Mississippi. Four of the top 7-8 football states. And Texas isn’t all that far. While they’re out of state, it’s not like he’s pulling kids to Colorado.

Yeah...unlike all the other threads, every one of which is great and worthwhile and full of deep wisdom.

But but but this thread has a kid in it that went to Columbus.....and we all know how defensive that whole CIS crew can be.....even when one of their own clowns Miami.

Saban is the GOAT recruiter (say bags say whatever but it is what it is).

However, if there was 2 evenly matached teams, there’s quite a few coaches I would go with before Saban.

The same way Coach K built Duke... If you win they will come, if you make them successful in college more kids will see that success and commit.
