If indeed he cant coach his way out of a paper bag he would fail to win with another good class and his (prompt) exit would be more guaranteed. The U, ultimately, would be far better off with this scenario and you deprive the staff of having excuses to fall back upon. You dont need to destroy the village to save it, a strategy that has failed elsewhere in history. It is also much easier to turn the tap off than it is to subsequently retstart it in the marketing world.

It appears they are fans, but they are definitely acting like immature ********. They are killing the recruiting, which will be used by Golden to defend his record, and the poorer recruiting will make the job less attractive to a new coach.

To further add to your point I recently came across a paper done by somebody at the Stanford business school that talks about how the perception of the consumer and how the pressures of the consumers can effect the company. It mentions how Nike overhauled it's labor practices and how Walmart worked to improve its impact on their workers and community because activists made them a target. The single biggest take away from the research was quite simple, social pressure matters. To quote the paper...

"Social pressure and social performance reinforce each other. Greater social pressure can result in better social performance. In other words, firms step up responsible behavior in response to pressure."

Or for the simpletons whom this is directed at, if enough people speak up then change WILL happen. This is simple simple **** man, business 101. Ever heard the old saying "the customer is always right?"

I posted that in another thread but it needs to be posted here to. It's actually quite shocking that some of you don't understand this basic principal of business. This idea that the consumer of a product actually has some effect on said product. It's our responsibility to vote with our wallet when a product we use or support is not up to standard and if we dont? Then there isn't much of a reason to change things. What difference does it make if you make money whether your product is good or bad? It's asinine to suggest that fans speaking up don't have any impact.

We aren't causing the problem, we're bringing attention to the problem. If that makes the fans the bad guys then so be it but somebody has to do it.

I agree. Best way to invoke a change is to hit them in their wallets. I would rather see a change movement invoked along those lines (boycotts, etc) rather than bad mouthing recruits, players, player's parents, and other fans.

College football is not like most businesses with Conference money sharing, TV contracts, and other things, but it will still hurt.
