If indeed he cant coach his way out of a paper bag he would fail to win with another good class and his (prompt) exit would be more guaranteed. The U, ultimately, would be far better off with this scenario and you deprive the staff of having excuses to fall back upon. You dont need to destroy the village to save it, a strategy that has failed elsewhere in history. It is also much easier to turn the tap off than it is to subsequently retstart it in the marketing world.

Let me see if I get this straight. Al Golden has been here, physically, for four years. The administration says lets pretend he has only been here one year. He goes 6-7 in his fourth year here (4-7 against teams that are competitive with Miami - meaning FAMU and Arkansas State had no chance to win their games against us). He does so even though he has 11 players who have enough talent to actually be considered for the 2015 NFL draft. He has a top ten for their position OL (Flowers), TE (Walford), WR (Dorsett), and LB (Perryman). His team has more talent than all but one team it plays against each year. His failure is obvious and complete. The fans demand change. The administration says ***** the fans - Al is the boss and we don't care what the fans think. The fans are outraged. They become vocal. Fans are told to STFU because Al remains in his mythological first year. Fans go to war with the fact that NO changes are made despite the mediocrity. The administration, which started the war by not holding a single soul accountable for the 4-7 record, says STFU again because it is hurting recruiting. The fans are not hurting recruiting. The incompetence of the UM administration in being good stewards of the football program and engaging in delusional thinking (this was Al's first year) is killing recruiting. The anger grows louder. The UM administration reaches out to player families, ex players, and local columnists to support their absurd position. They fire the save the U message despite the ineptitude of both the coaches and the administration. They ask the fans to ignore the stupidity of the buyout extension, the lack of accountability and the intellectual dishonesty of their arguments. They honestly can't understand why we find al of this unacceptable. Maybe within the blindness of the four corners of their campus this flies (I highly doubt it though) but for those of us who work everyday for a paycheck, who are under the pressure to perform our work competently of be fired, who are not treated like the new guy four years after we have held our job, and who are not paid millions to fail this doesn't fly. Imagine if the U graduates a doctor, keeps him on the staff for four years, and he loses 7 of 11 patients. Will the U say he gets a pass because he worked under a university that had a cloud on it? No you can better believe his or her sorry butt would be out on the seat of his or her pants. The same standard applies to the head coach. So good luck with the premise that 4-7 should result in fans saying thank you sir, can you please spank my butt again harder. Ain't happening now and it won't happen in the future.

Hurting recruiting right now, given that Golden will be here next year, does absolutely nothing but leave the cupboard more bare for either Golden or whatever coach would come after him the following year. It has ZERO positive benefit no matter how the loons try to pretend it will lead to Golden being dismissed and a resurrection of the program they so badly want to kill right now. Golden will be dismissed based on how we do on the field. Acting like lunatics, if anything, gives an excuse to keep him on longer because part of any failure can then be blamed on a "fan" base that is actively and vocally trying to undermine the program and even admits to trying to hurt recruiting.
