Watched the 85-86 Canes play for first time.

Lebron would dominate the 80s and 90s at half speed are u drunk old man??
Larry Bird and Kevin Michale would lock down Lebron. Lebron also wouldn’t be able to survive the physicality. He is the softest player in NBA history. He fakes injuries, flopps and cries. Let me tell you something about Lebron; he is all supplements. He 100 percent uses either steroids, EPO or HGH.

lol Lebron would break Kevin mchales sorry *** in half and Bird broke down at 29 he would get steamrolled by Lebron easily.

Cmon man, you are not helping your cause by saying **** like that. He would have been fine back then just b/c of his physical ability. McHale shutting him down? lol, cmon man. And FTR, I'm over 40.

You realize Kevin Mchale is a HOFmer and one of the greatest fowards of all time. He was a great defensive player. Larry Bird is a top 10 player of all time. Both those guys are badasses. The Celtics also had Parish and Maxwell, who both made the HOF. That 1984 Celtics team would blow out Lebron and the Lakers. They would put Lebron James on lockdown.

Lebron 100 percent uses supplements. It couldn’t be more obvious. Lebron is the biggest cry baby all the time, he fakes injuries, and he flopps. Those actions would not fly in the NBA in the 80’s. And you realize that Mchale is one of the best power forwards of all time and a great defender

You are now changing your accusation. Lots of players use supplements, won't deny that. To what extent? Can't be sure. That said, he is naturally an athletic freak and already 99% of elite athletes in the NBA even without supplements.

I'm not gonna argue whininess - I do not like that about his game - but he is better than you're giving him credit for.

Watch this video. When Lebron went to the heat, he added 25 pounds of muscle in a span of a few months. He completely re shaped his body. When he was on the heat, he only missed 14 games in 4 years. When he would get injured, he would magically have a quick and remarkable recovery. Is that not suspicious? Lebron James is 35 years old and is arguably a better athlete than he was when he first entered the league. Explain that.

Dude ain’t on no roids. He wasn’t even defined muscle wise like he is now coming out of hs and he was still 230.

I was born in 89, and the earliest games i remember were 99-00. The only things I know about the original dynasty is what I watched on “The U”. Biggest takeaways after watching entire game:

Testaverde had an absolute cannon and beautiful looking passes. Brian Bosworth really lived up to his billing and was all over the place making plays, but so were Melvin B and Highsmith.

Recruiting: a big thing that stuck out was UM’s roster was all FL kids and OU was all Texas and some Oklahoma kids. Recruiting wasn’t so wide spread and many kids stayed local. I know that doesn’t sound so shocking but with social media, YouTube, and recruiting services having absolutely changed recruiting from this time period, the almost entire home grown rosters for both teams was significant.

Orange Bowl: absolute chaos. I’ve been to the Rock countless times but never the OB. It was so loud, Oklahoma’s QB walked away from the line of scrimmage to ***** to the ref. Canes were actually charged a time out and warned for crowd noise. Then on one possession, 3rd and a mile deep inside the west end zone, the crowd was going so nuts that Miami’s DLinemen were all waving with their hands to calm the crowd. I’ve never seen any crowd at any college stadium get flagged for being too loud

I was at this game and it was one of the loudest I've ever been to. The Notre Dame game 2 years ago was as loud or Louder IMO. The Dolphins Bears game in 85 was probably the loudest I've ever heard the OB. That game was crazy

Yea because this is legit lol
Watch the video dude. In 2013, the NBA investigated a steroid clinic in Miami and they found that a guy with the last name Paul could come pick up products for a man with the initials LJ. Lebron agents name is Rich Paul. This clinic was known for giving steroids to many professional athletes. A women who worked at clinic said she was 100 percent sure the steroids were for Lebron. When he went back to Cleveland, he cut down a lot of weight and then his level of play started to decrease and the team was struggling. But towards the end of the season, he took a two week break. He went down to Miami to rejuvenate and when he came back, he started playing at a really high level and he seemed to be more explosive

good to see you have fckn dementia bc u are out ur mind if u think Lebron wouldn’t destroy that sorry *** era u hyping.

******...can you ******* read? I wrote a whole paragraph calling this dude a goofy for saying LeBron would be eaten alive in the '80s. How god**** dumb can you consistently be on this board?

Look, I am a little biased against Lebron. I personally can’t stand him. He is a disgrace to this country after what he said about China but we won’t get into that. I personally believe Lebron James is soft. He is the biggest flopper I have ever seen. He always fakes injuries. He uses steroids. The list goes on and on. Below, I posted the fight between Bird and Laimbeer. You don’t see that physicality in the NBA today.

They were already trying to take the physicality out of the game to combat the “thug” narrative that was circulating about the nba as it got more black and infused with more hip hop culture in the 90s and 2000s.

After Malice in the Palace, the league went to great lengths to change the perception of the league. There is NO WAY they would allow the play style to go back to the physicality of the 80s and before.

You would literally get thrown out of the league trying to operate on the court like that.
