It's possible he puts up a solid defense next year. I don't think it is possible he puts up a solid defense if he asks next year's personnel to do what last year's personnel was asked to do.

Have there been any "apologists" on this thread at all? All I see is people saying that the timing was awful for this comment. I don't think anyone disagrees with him, we're just all saying why the fck would you bash your school one week before signing day when we have a legit shot at some big names that could go either way?

I didn't hear any bashing of the school just the defense. All I heard was pride and love for his school and disgust for what has happened to his schools feared and revered defensive reputation. The timing of his remarks won't effect the recruiting any more than the stats of the last 3 years.
The truth will always set you free.

I'm afraid we are not going to see any improvement in the defense in the near future and the thought of watching my team again playing bad football is weighing heavy on me.

I see you're caught up in the desire to fail, I on the other hand prefer to keep a positive outlook on the situation.
You want him to fail so you can be right, I want him to succeed because I love the program.

Top 40 defense in year 4 at the University of Miami is not a solid defense. It has to be a top 25 defense. You have to factor in the number of years he's been on the job and the fact that all the players are now his. So he has to have a top 25 defense to be considered a solid defense IMO.
