I hope the issues on the offense last night act as a catalyst for Dawson and Mario like the SMU loss did last year. They cannot go forward in ACC play with the OL they played last night and the passing game they had in the second half last night. These WR need to step up when one or another goes down.

Facts just like you mentioned SMU was so bad we had to pivot and that worked out magnificently, hopefully they wake up after last night game

Him and cantwell both probably won’t be ready this year

They are ready to play through mistakes as freshmen do.

Put them in and let them play all game against Central Michigan. They need to see a wider variety of DLs and DL moves than they have seen from the UM DLs.

There is no better teacher than "experience". And learning from one's mistakes.

I almost want Cantwell at RT and Slide McCoy back to LG where he was dam good in run blocking then. And just have Cantwell take his lumps. He'll improve, its better than watching SJ get bodied every week
My brother in Christ, thank you.

Samson/McCoy on the left side, protecting Mensahs blind side, and providing a go to part of the line for the run game. Let Congdon/Cantwell take their licks at RG & RT. Mensah can see that pressure and even when he was injured last night, he still escaped pressure. If you need to add Ruskovich or SJ at the end of the right side for extra blockers, so be it. Just keep Mensah tf up right.

Trade off of an inexperienced strong player getting beat by good technique vs an experienced weak player getting shoved 5 yards into the backfield. Logic says pick option 1

Agree 💯. What I’m curious to see is if they keep trying Cantwell at G or kick McCoy back inside and play him at T.

I said this to @JD08 and @SpikeUM as it happened, but the FG would have taken us from a 13 to 16 point lead when they already showed they were willing to go for 2 when they were down THREE 8-point scores.

Anyone who understands math (as Mario still does not) would realize that a 16-point lead is just 2 scores in the minds of the Wake Forest coaches.

Also, we completely ****ed up the clock for the last 2 minutes of the first half, which resulted in us leaving 4 easy points behind.
Uh It is VERY different being up 16 vs 13. 2 scores by Wake gives them the lead, whereas up 16 means they need both conversions to even tie. Extremely different. Just cause its 2 scores doesn't mean its the same. Very bad criticism there. It was a fine decision.

I agree about the clock part, but Idk what happened there. We were charged a Timeout and they did a 10s runoff AND started clock early on whistle. made no sense.

The biggest "question" though was accepting the hold on the 4th and 10. That was a bad decision and I said so BEFORE the play was run, so it wasn't just waiting for the result either....

I mean I hear you but they must feel those guys are even worse than sj and buchanan

Probably not happening. Those dudes were playing insurance salesmen in hs and cantwell never really pass block much. Samson played weak comp too and it took him time to adjust

That’s disastrous then cause there is no one else who can help take snaps.
