Thank you. This is literally all I been asking people to do. Check out the tape. The kid has talent. I think he will end up better than Fletcher but whatever that's just my opinion. Regardless the young man is going to play a lot.
He’s a good player but i don’t think we should be downplaying fletch to prop him up. I think he should be rb2 tho but we’ll see how the competition plays out

NC State, first drive. He was blown up so badly that they inserted Marty Brown and Bauman as HBs out of pony personnel a play later and Pringle was pulled from blocking duty altogether. It was a 2nd and 6 in the red area, precisely the play where a RB needs to block. After that, Marty Brown was the chip blocker on pure passing downs and on 3rd and 10+, Bauman was inserted as well. And don't tell me that didn't happen, I just clicked through the game and can give you timestamps if you want.

We have no idea if he hasn't done so, which he'll have to show in two weeks. Nobody is ruling out an improvement, you're pretending to do so.

1. Not a big claim, the coaching staff pulled him out of these duties for evident reasons that you choose to ignore. 2. Saying that someone can't block is not an indictment on his capabilities to block in the future. That's what you say, not what we say. Or I say, for that matter.

The notion that Fletcher is not a better RB than Pringle is absolutely nonsensical. He's more consistent and capable in pass protection, adaquate as a pass catcher and has shown enough consistent production to be considered the best RB in the backfield. Mark Fletcher has posted 172, 90, 133 and 112 in the postseason even with the rest of the offense being invisiable at times. Pringle is a second-year player who was probably 15 lbs too light to assume anything more than backup duty last season.

Can Pringle develop into the best RB in the room? Sure. Is he now? No. Is this bad? No.
No he is literally saying he CAN'T block at all and won't play. Not once did I say he didn't need to improve.

Pretty confident Pringle will easily get a higher YPC average than Fletcher and definitely over his career. It's honestly not that daunting @ 5.3 ypc.

Back up your claims that Pringle can't block. One missed block in a game doesn't prove that. There's alos not tape of him repeatedly missing blocks to back up this claim. Fletcher missed a block in the Ole Miss game.

You like to make all sorts of claims but can't back any of it up.

Let's see first if Pringle will ever have 200 carries in a season.

Also, 5.3 ypc is not that daunting? Saquon had 5.7. Not saying that Fletcher is that, but anytime a RB averages five yards a carry, it's straight...

In a concerted effort to derail the Fletcher v Pringle argument, I would like to focus on what I believe is one of the greatest comedy monologues of all time; Robert Downey jr in Tropic Thunder.
So great that the expression “never go full r*tard” has become a part of American lexicon while simultaneously being politically incorrect. Case in point CIS will not even allow me to type r*tard.

I still feel Robert Downey should have won the Oscar for best supporting actor for Tropic Thunder. A classic movie and a classic character.
100% dude, Robert Downey Jr. is absolutely priceless in that role! That movie is so ******* funny and he’s the biggest part of the reason why it’s that funny.

5.3 ypc in college is not that great. Damien Martinez was over 6 for his career and over 6 ypc in 2024. I do truly love Mark Fletcher and want him to carry the rock in the playoffs, but at Miami the goal is actually to get better players in here. Fletcher has never been considered an ELITE talent. He put on a true clinic in the A&M game and as I've said if that's the real Fletcher then he will end up a very rich man in the NFL. And that run of him carrying that A&M DB 35 yards is one of my all time favorite plays.

I understand he's everyone's favorite and a hero for what he did in the playoffs, but as others have pointed out, he woulda left for the NFL if they thought that highly of him. I'm hoping we see more improvement and hope the pistol will see him flourish.

Right now, we have players participating in NFL training camp going back to college to play their final year of eligibility.

I can assure you that "NIL" pays good enough to stay in college...

Yes but it's also true NFL backs do tend to dominate in college. I keep bringing up Damien who was definitely better than Fletcher not making an NFL team. He may have found a home in Green Bay so we will see. Canes will be biased and overrate Fletcher as fans usually do. The truth is probably more like he's a borderline NFL talent. His game could translate to the NFL well but he does run high. Sorry but I just don't see an ELITE RB. I love him, and he's good enough to win a championship with in college.

Pringle and Fletcher in 2026 could make a seriously deadly duo. Very excited about maybe a slightly faster Fletcher mixed with Pringle.

Not my intention to downplay Fletcher so if i did then I am in the wrong and got carried away

This run @ 2:49 is why I am so high on him. Check out how he navigates all the traffic here and stays composed even with #52 getting blown up, he sees the hole with that great vision, cuts this sucker up, and the acceleration here to get 10 in a blink of an eye. He's a arm tackle here from true ELITE RB play. He's only 190 lbs but looks always comfortable in a pile of monsters.

You guys can split hairs all you want with the backs, last year Miami was outside the Top 100 in the country in yards before contact. That has to get MUCH better or I don't care who you have in the backfield, we're not reaching our ceiling on offense.
I asked about this the other day

I think in 2023 we were #1 and 2024 we had to be near the top again but it’s tough to find that stat

College data isn't perfect for things like this, you're right. But pretty much all the consensus I've seen is we were Top 20 in the country in 2024, and outside the Top 100 in 2025. Matches the eye-test too, doesn't it?

The 2025 OL was not a great run blocking unit. Now, that's only part of the story. Yards before contact is very much influenced by both scheme and how the defense plays you. Carson Beck had half an arm, and we had really no vertical threats on the outside. You can condense the box and play us somewhat well. 2024, Cam was throwing the ball all over the place, and our ADOT was astronomical. You can't put your safeties down.

So I don't think all of a sudden in 2025, Cici and Anez etc just stopped beating the man in front of them. But when the entire world knows you're just gonna run A-gap on every single short yardage play, and DCs don't respect your kids out wide, you can put 14 dudes in the middle and clog **** up pretty well.

I'm hoping the addition of Mensah and the vertical threats make defenses play us a little more honest, and that just naturally opens more running lanes and our yards before contact improves. If we're 110th again, then Mensah either better win the Heisman or we just can't block.

Couldn’t agree more

Also someone like Fletcher takes him a bit longer than someone like Pringle to get going

Once we made Mali the focal point of the offense it gave the defense something extra to think about. Not a surprise that when Fletcher got some extra room to get going he started running like a freight train where Pringle is a lot smaller and great burst, he could sneak through spots

Even with a step back at OL I expect these backs to feast just because we have a downfield passing game that should be absolutely deadly

Let me get this straight. Did someone say Pringle is better than Fletcher? If so I need to smack this person.
