All of these backs are gonna play a lot and get more than their opportunity to shine, I don't know why yall wanna split hairs like this.

Fletcher is the unquestioned leader of the team and our starting back, but the plan is simple for him. Give him limited work early in the season to keep him as fresh as possible for when the games become more physical (aka the playoffs). I expect him to get no more than 120 carries in the regular season.

Lyle is not going to play early in the year, and Mallory is a true freshman, so I expect to see a ton of Brown and Pringle early in the year.

In 2024, our backs averaged 28 carries per game.
In 2025, it was closer to 30 carries per game.

If Fletcher only gets ~10, I fully expect the rest of that work to be shared by Brown and Pringle. I fully expect both kids to top 100 total opportunities in the regular season.

This is why I am thinking Pringle may actually lead the team in rushing. A slightly stronger Pringle is going to be producing a hefty YPC.

Yeah it was bad. Fletcher was getting some good yards most of the year mostly after contact. Pringle was the only one getting chunks somewhat consistently. Lyle and Marty were just not productive at all.
Marty played well against ND, UF and OSU. Very productive 3rd down and redzone back.

Lyle was a Major liability, which called into question his freshman success; since under reexamination the majority of his rushing yards were against three non-P4 teams and the majority of his remaining yardage came against a mediocre Wake Forest run defense.

I think Lyle, at his best, is similar to Ryan Howard as he is a bipolar, homer or strikeout type of hitter-runner. But we’re reaching a point of no return with his greentree all American lore.

He is the obvious odd man out here if we’re being fr but he isn’t on the outs yet because how well he practices

Marty IMO will definitely be the short yardage back. Very good at it.

Pull the other games. He's the best inside runner. Is still consider b-gap the middle. I'm not making this up. D$ is also now finally realized he's actually a straight up the gut runner. I do also have to credit Pete for being the first to spot this last summer. He has a knack for popping thru holes you didn't see were there. But again here he is with a 6.8 ypc performance. We didn't have too many of those all season until A&M.

He's definitely an underdog to do it but I don't think it's completely impossible. He probably will need insane efficiency though because i have to think he's 3rd in the pecking order right now. But all these kids are so good, by the end of September is it crazy to think Fletcher is 1A and Pringle is 1B? Of course not. And as I mentioned, I really don't think they're going to run Fletcher into the ground. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets less than 10 carries against FAMU and Central Michigan, combined, for an example.

You just want to give him enough work to keep him sharp but fresh. This is yet another reason, #1,354, why it's important to just blow these ****** teams the **** out. Build competitive depth. There's absolutely zero reason for Mark Fletcher to have to see the field in the 2nd half against Stanford. Get him his 8 carries in the first half, go into halftime up 24-6, and let the other kids push it into the 40s.

I’m gonna make a killing with the Brown and Pringle prop bets early in the season

This is my biggest open item left for Mario, outside of a Natty, getting back to blowing teams out and letting our 2’s and 3’s get burn so we can really start to build depth and experience for CFP runs

Wasn't Pringle the RB in the photo in a boot??? if so, him and lyle won't be playing at least the first two games... Lyle I could see having a 4game suspension at least, and then pending the case playing out could be longer...

First few games is gonna be:
Fletcher / Marty / Mallory / Hellcat (in blowouts)

Fletcher will probably get about 14 carries a game

Haha. Pull the other tapes.

His tape didn't actually prove my statement false. If anything yet again it showed how effective the young man is both running inside and outside.

So when Pringle was in the portal I pulled up this highlight tape and immediately thought to myself; it would really suck if this young man does transfer because he was really great at these inside runs. If you want to nitpick about the A gap or the B Gap and if it was Duo or an inside zone go ahead. This young man doesn't hesitate, hits these holes hard, and find them on a consistent basis.

Agree love Pringle, although @Confidence1000 may have a prob with that lest sentence
