Utah vs Florida

I stand by what I said. Still all that talent out and had the ability to put the dagger in a lot earlier. Uf being that bad allowed them to win.

Being loud and wrong isn't the way to be.

Utah isn't a team that wins games 40-3 regularly, especially seeing that they are down multiple starters, including their talented, multidimensional QB. Utah doesn't recruit like an SEC school or USC, they recruit kids that they develop who aren't high end college ready prospects most of the time, which means depth is always an issue. Once they got out to that huge lead, it became more about grinding the game down and maintaining distance. The game was never truly in doubt, it was a comfortable opening game win for Utah.

Again I’m not talking talent disparity I’m talking about coaching decisions.

Eh idk the obesssion with whittingham on this board but that was a corch job by Utah

Whittingham is a top end coach, FULL STOP. For those of us that actually watch and understand football and aren't mere highlight watchers, we can see that Whittingham is winning at a high level in a place where he is at a severe disadvantage. Utah rarely wins recruiting battles for top end recruits, but this dude evaluates and develops at a high enough level to where he CONSISTENTLY beats schools with superior talent. Think about the following: He boatraced USC last year in the Pac-12 Championship Game. Dude has taken what was once a midmajor darling, brought it to a major conference and made it into one of the most consistent programs in the country. He isn't Saban or Smart, but he's a guy that gets the most out of what he has.

Imagine had Miami been able to exploit the divide between him and his AD a decade ago and landed him. Would he win a National Championship at Miami? Who knows, but I would bet my house Miami would be a disciplined, well coached team that consistently won 9+ games per year under his leadership. For whatever reason, he's loyal to Utah, but if he ever decides to leave, watch out.

He played field position most of the night and as the offense inevitably bogged down(Mostly because their backup QBs looked like backups), he went conservative which is what a rational coach does. He knew, as we all did that UF couldn't consistently string together drives, and whenever his D needed to make a play, they did. UF was TERRIBLE on 3rd down, that wasn't an accident.

I'm not going to lambast him for trying to put some additional points on the board with an FG, with a kicker that had shown that he had a strong leg. Dude missed by a foot, and UF's O was crap all night. It was a sensible gamble.

Not going to lie not a huge fan of adopting the nfl clock rule.
Neither am I… with the limitations on practice teams really don’t have proper time to also incorporate enough time to get a 4min offense down…

But having said that as well I don’t think it matters as Napier is a terrible OC.

I would have one of paranos’s land whales jump from a second story and land on my ****. if Mario can have this squad looking like Utah in the next few years. That team looks physically imposing, fast, and agressive. First let’s look like Utah and then Georgia and Bama. We on the right path just gonn take some time.

My son asked me tonight as I was watching the Florida game, “You hate every other team, don’t you?”

“Of course. Yes.”

He was incredulous. To me it’s simple. I want Miami to win. Always. And the only time that I will pull for another team is when it is of strategic advantage to Miami.
Yea, I raised my son to be a Miami Hurricane and New York Yankees fan and he always asks me, “Why does everyone hate us so much?” LoL. What’s worse, we’re in rival fan territory as well.

The Gatas were absolute trash in this game. Their OL..Woof!! Their QB isn’t going to last long behind that porous unit (especially in the SEC). They will struggle mightily this year. Hope it impacts their recruiting class heavily. Who in their right mind would want to play for that cl@wn show? 🤡

Our OL is going to be a force this year. We’re in a much better place than them.

They have Max Miller and Jack Brown behind Mertz; neither are rated as blue chip players. They forced Rashada out, leaving them with no freshman.

It might sound crazy to some, but I honestly think he’s one of the most successful CFB coaches of that last 20 years. Considering the disadvantages he has, he surely has a seat at the table with 2-3 others.
