USC and UCLA to B1G

Finebaum also had a UF law professor on. Without calling out Ruiz by name, the professor clearly was referring to him saying he was under NCAA investigation for possible NIL violations and that the NCAA could force violators to be disassociated from their universities.

I wouldnt doubt he's under investigation because the ncaa has a hard on for UM. I also think Ruiz knew the NCAA would put a target on his back, and he made sure everything he's doing is legal. I also have a feeling that if UM gets a SEC invite, this will suddenly go away.

Watching finebaum now. Surprisingly he thinks Miami best of the acc for the sec. Followed by Clemson. Hates FSU and VTech as not having anything to offer. Just passing along as it was a surprise.
Finebaum is a media personality. Of course he knows about analytics and where the biggest growth would come from if they were added. It aint Clemson and it aint FSU.

In another segment he was talking about ND, and said that the reason ND wasnt affiliated with the B1G to begin with is that ND hates the B1G. Some bad blood that goes back to before he was born (so all the way back to the 19th century). Possible ND would rather join the SEC.

Why does anyone think that any team would ever leave the Big 10? They dont even need grant-of-rights to hold onto members.

If the ACC had ANY chance of stealing ANY Big 10 member, it would be Maryland. And that ain't happening.
The only way it happens is if ND joins and the ACC can get proof that the TV deal would get up to Big 10 level with enough big dogs jumping over. Extremely unlikely, but you never know.

I believe Miami will be gone sooner than later. Big 10 or Sec. I doubt we see as many teams coming with us as some think.
Do u have any ide of timeframe, maybe UM side is targeting to split. I would love that to be announced before the end of the regular season before signing day

Good read & opinions.

Read from The Athletic TV companies have been pushing for this to expand their footprint & provide an easier package. I’m wondering if these discrepancies in TV contracts were purposely done to further the corporate agendas to benefit them vs. CFB as a whole.

If I had to bet I’d bet earlier
Approve South Park GIF

The Big Ten has obviously made an effort to expand into major media markets. I wonder if the SEC will make a move on Miami and FSU to shut out the BIG completely from Florida. ****, is Gtech valuable just because of its location in a major Sourheast city with very fertile recruiting grounds?

If you go back years ago to when the ACC Network was struggling to get cable carriage, I proposed an "A&P Network", which would be the ACC and Pac 12. Separate conferences, but shared content. Because cable companies were hard-pressed to create a new channel or two for every pro league, every college league, every regional network, etc.

All-day Saturday football, from 11 am EST kickoffs (8 am west coast) to games that go past midnight in the east (and possibly the west).

When I was out in Reno/Tahoe last year, I was freaking out because the Miami-GaTech kickoff was so early...until someone reminded me of CASINOS. Needless to say, I watched the whole game on TV.

Should’ve happened, and that would’ve been an awesome concept, & imo, a much better proposal that would’ve been mutually beneficial for the networks & conferences.

Just doing the math right now w/ one of my boys who’s a SC alum. He was heated at the idea, until we just crunch the #’s.

So check this out Tic-TOC;

The B1G will most likely be able to renegotiate their TV deal, however let’s say they don’t renegotiate, & stay pat w/ their current deal which will renew in 2023-4. This new deal is expected to generate $1b/yr in distribution or roughly $71.4m/team under current members. Adding SC & UCLA it becomes $62.5m/members.

Now, compare that to UCLA & SC’s current deal w/ The Pac-12 (mind u, only 12 teams) $21m/team.

Bro, we’re talking about a 300% increase in revenue, AT MINIMUM! This shows the far discrepancy of the conferences. There was no Power 5; it is a Power 2, Medium 3, & G5. SC & UCLA saw the #’s & said loyalty be damned, they gotta take advantage of an opportunity to not be left behind.

One source in the conference told ESPN on Friday "it's wide open" as far as who the Pac-12 would consider inviting, but added the Big 12 and ACC are worth exploring.
