There was a nice third down stoppage that Harvey played absolutely perfectly as well that Gabbert basically could have forced an INT (which QBs will do this year) or spike it which he did

I think it’s PTSD from seeing is done so incorrectly in the past and people are panicking

It’s one game against a team that we didn’t need to do much against and we didn’t give up much

I also didn’t see any DEs dropping into coverage and having a delayed 87 yard blitz by the safety to cover the ground so that helps

Drop some of bain work ethic , technique and motor into LT and u have a top 10 pick

I know it was Ohio but watching him seamlessly go back and forth from DT to DE and make plays at both was impressive

That QB show on Netflix really puts a spotlight on how special QBs can be and make their coaches look better (Maholms & Cousins) to to mention Brady, Rodgers, Brees and a few others. They make the coaching look better than it actually might be (Evidenced by New England and their plethora of Offensive Coodinators not finding legit success - Daniels, O’Brien, Weiss), how much better Andy Reid is (although I think he’s a genius) vs Alex Smith & Donovan McNabb and I am curious to see how Bienemy does in Washington as to me, there is a reason he’s not a HC.
 
I liked how the DBs played the sticks very well. Off to force short throws and patterns, but not too far off and make the tackle asap.

And the missed tackles thing was big. Look throughout Week 1 and how many tackles were missed by teams such as Clemson. We went hard.

Man - those delayed safety blitzes from outside the stadium parking lot - I was so ******* happy not to see any of that in game 1. It was such a ******* stupid thing that I am still waiting for Manny to fail at Penn State. Franklin does some real good recruiting, however, to cover a lot for him. But he’s done better than what I expected as a DC so far.

The one time I remember the DE in coverage play was the Clemson game in which we started out well and then our DE (I think the Temple transfer. Forgot his name) dropped a INT to his chest thrown by Sunshine and they went to convert a 4th down and it was game over.

They don't have data that will get you there, honestly. I'm building a ML algorithm right now for recruiting and it's difficult to really get features that move the needle because we don't have the data quality.

I am very interest to see how our corners will hold up in this game and vs FSU - two teams that have two stud wide receivers.

This weekend is test #1. Hopefully by the FSU game, our DBs are in a good spot experience and chemistry wise. In Guidry I trust.

Guidry is gonna have them folks play like someone trying to enter mommas household...
 
Look forward to these every week, thanks. As I said before the season, I have real concerns with Rivers at LT, particularly against elite comp, like A&M. This write-up didn't ease those concerns.

If fans are looking for potential things to be concerned about then I get that. It’s worth noting but I’m not really seeing any actual explanations other than blurting out random statements. Doesn’t make much sense to me

Pretty sure Guidry has seen a ****** wheel route in his coaching days but I dunno…
 
Lee is the biggest transfer we brought in. His ability to get those scoop blocks, second level and on the perimeter changes this offense drastically. I re-watched and focused on him and he is the goods

More if you break a tackle. Just stick your foot in the ground and hit that gap. #21 is going to fill, but if you break that, it could be a house call. Ajay Allen tries to bounce this along the LOS and gets a yard. Woof.

@Lance Roffers thank you for the amazing breakdowns, we all learn so much.

Regarding the above play, it drove me crazy real-time because on the replay, it looked to me like 21 was not going to be in position to make the play easily.

Shameless plug, but I think this where Chaney shines. I would bet dollars to croquetas, he cuts that run up and stays behind his pads. Thoughts on him getting some more burn?

Hard to say what another player would do, but I know what they're coached to do anywhere I've been around, and that's to hit that foot and get upfield there. Coaches like players who keep things on schedule and are reliable. It's something I've heard everywhere, "if I can't trust you, I can't play you."

The RB room is strong enough that if you aren't executing the plays, aren't finishing runs, or aren't blocking, there are enough options to put someone else in. The beauty of competition in a depth chart, quite frankly.

That said, Allen had a nice run a few plays later and played well outside of that run.

Playing our de’s in a two point stance and dropping them makes sense . Kelly baited the qb and almost got a pick because of it. It causes confusion for the OL and QB. They never know who’s coming outside and on both sides. That’s why Guidry causes so much chaos. His disguising was next level. It was the first time in forever I didn’t know who was coming until right before the snap. Unlike Manny.

It's incredibly rare for a center to stand out for me when I watch a game but it was hard not to notice him. I was super impressed.
