Big plays, big moments, big calls are often what’s discussed and highlighted, but I want to give some flowers to 4 players who made critical plays that completely changed the outcome of this game:

-CJ
-Arroyo
-X
-Baron

1. CJ
Late in the 2nd w/ VT going up 2 scores w/ a deflating 58 yrd FG., VT chose to squib kick, & Chris almost housed it. With 15 secs left, he gave us excellent field position giving us an opportunity to score before half. Result? We score 3, making the score 24-17 at half, instead of 24-14.

2. Arroyo
Down 10, & Miami driving late 3rd, there was miscommunication between Ward & X, leading to an int by former Cane, K. Spencer. Spencer had a convoy escorting him for a pick 6. Arroyo hustled all the way down field as Spencer was coasting, resulting in a TD saving tackle. Result? Instead of VT going up 34-17, we held them to a FGA, which they chose to abort for a fake. They scored 0 on that turnover, & went down to score changing momentum. 27-24.

3. X
Late in the 4th on a crucial 4th & 3, we NEEDED to convert. Unfortunately X lost his footing right as the ball was delivered. While on his back, not giving up on the play, X extends himself to save an incompletion. Result? Drive continues, leading to the go ahead TD. 34-38

4. Baron
Baron didn’t have a great game, like at all; BUT, he made a huge play both from a time and yardage perspective. On VT’s last drive, Drones evades the rush, & there is nothing but green grass ahead of him. As Baron was trying to retract, he reaches out and grabs Drones’ jersey from behind, yanking him down. Result? This not only led to 13, precious secs coming off the clock, but it forced VT to burn a crucial T.O.

If these 4 instances don’t happen in a game won by 4 points, we’re mopey af this weekend. That’s a 6-14 point swing in our favor based upon these unsung heroes. 🫡

I honestly think Johnson’s kick return (and Pry’s idiotic decision to squib it there) are the reason we were able to win. If you go into half down 10 with them getting the ball back and the defense getting picked apart like it was I don’t know that you come out on top.

The fake FG
Arroyo chase down
X Catch
Ward/Williams connection
Pry clock management
I posted in the game thread momentum is nothing to be played with and they had all of it. That fake fg stop breathed life into the team. There was no reason to fake that other than overthinking the situation going for the kill. That one o play did them in. Luckily for Coach the Hail Mary took the focus of his corching and use of timeouts.

Yup! He gave the team and fans juice with that one. Pry def showed why his one score game record is what it is

Yep, that's why that bull**** holding call that took away the TD was so bad. Im curious what the game would've been like if that hadn't happened, i think it probably would've broken VT.

great game by bryant, but he looks so small
He is small for a D-end. We can call him a stand up D-end or whatever we want, but he looks like what he is, a LB converted to D-end. But he’s pretty good despite his size.
The challenge, however at that size, is can he hold up over the course of a game or will he be beaten down if he has to pay too many snaps.

CIS went from booking our ACC Championship Game flights to a flawed team in a few hours…

But thanks to these plays we are still undefeated.

The Baron play was HUGE

Probably ends up a TD for VT the way the game was going. And good on the refs for not throwing a flag despite the theatrics. They had a bad night but that play was massive

I hope bain comes back because teams are going to keep holding barron.

Malik and CJ made huge plays. CJ just has to slow it down a little but hes able to make plays. Ray Ray cant get anything ggoing

I gove credit to Dawson getting Johnsons some opportunities but he needs more. It feels like he's going to break a td almost every time he touches the ball.
Only thing Dawson does that drives me insane is he runs a lot of those sweep type plays to the short side of the field

You see when we use those guys with space it can be a huge play every time

Arroyo really saved that game.

And we go after Cristobal for being a bad game manager, but Pry takes the cake.

Pry was a first class corch last night. Numerous instances where he cost his team the game. The squib, the fake, and more significantly his atrocious time management with 3 timeouts left.
