UNC - Game 3

Who is he putting in? That could be the biggest weakness in this team. Might need another pitcher or 2. Would have been nice if Bartow had come back.

Looks like Cook. We've got some decent arms - need to find out who can step up for later in year. And w the wind blowing out, I'd like to see some guys w a little more on their fastball. Go to Veliz in 5th or 6th if we get back in it.

Cook it is. None of the starters had their best this weekend. The difference between them is that not McKendry’s best is still good enough to win.

All of a sudden the ump won't call obvious low strikes. Nice job by Cook.
He seems to be getting closer to where he was this time last year after a rough preseason. If he and Maury could get back to their best, it would solve a lot of our issues.

The strike zone has been incredibly inconsistent this weekend.

Umpire has been really tight behind the plate, then calls a liberal curveball off the plate for strike 3. Cook had better placement on his outside pitches, but can't get a call for a strike.

I agree; and as we speak, Crosbie gets rung up on a ball a foot outside.

Looks like Canes are get something going, but no, they hit into another inning ending double play. Ugh

Smh - not much of a swing by Zamora. He's had a tough weekend. Oh well, at least we avoided the sweep if we don't come back and will have an opportunity to make a statement next weekend.

It is amazing how someone draws conclusions about a team because of 2 games out of 55. Can tell who the young posters are on here.
Not sure the OP went wrong with the post.
We were 3-2 in conference which happened to put us up there, and we are really young.
Both true statements.

These announcers are nauseating and typical NC homers. Cook's strikeout pitch was almost down the middle.

NC trying to sit on their lead and let us back in - come on boys. A couple here and it's still a ball game.

Cook holds the deficit through his two innings. I’d go Veliz next to give us a couple more innings to try to close the gap.

OMG!!! That inside pitch called for a strike to Toral was way inside. This umpire is inconsistent. He's not giving the Miami pitchers the same calls. It's like the Miami pitchers have to catch more of the plate to get a call for a strike.
