I agree. But to me its just hard to hold that against HS kids who have virtually dominated their comp their whole life because they were just bigger than everyone. Especially a guy who is 6'3-6'4 300lbs+ playing DT. But hey, all good either way. Ill trust their evals.
True, definitely requires vetting by our staff to make sure its not a deeper issue of laziness vs what you described.

Pretty sure Rique was last class as I believe he was here for Spring practice
So if we can sign 23 guys (Only Brown and Justice were counted forward), taking 5-6 DL when we are about to lose 5 minimum is too many? Alright. I’ll just disagree and pray our staff does too.
I still thought we had 3counted forward, Rambo maybe in addition to Brown and Justice? That would put us at 22.

FYI a ND poster on another board said their "insider" felt Lucas was going to be a tough pull from Miami but that they weren't sure how hard Miami is acutally recruiting him currently smh

also this Lyons kid is barely a top 500 croot in the country why we worried about him? we've recruited enough warm body 3*s who don't have elite measurables to know better by now

That ND poster sounds ridiculous. If he's a tough pull from us that directly implies we're on him as a priority.

What board?

Please, direct me to this post ...

more so the ND guy said they feel like it will be tough because of his ties to the area but the feedback did not give them the idea Miami is on him as hard as other schools

LOL! @that ND/Lucas post from their board. Ok, so maybe we dont have any plans on bringing in a DT at all this year! According to every "source" we are not pushing hard on any DT on our board. (Some poster said that the staff wasnt impressed with Bear Alexander when they saw him in person on the visit. LOL. Smh)

Man Manny has really closed up all leaks from his office. Nobody knows anything anymore re our recruiting big board. (i trust Coach Macho and his Tarbor info since he actually coaches the kid)

You may be correct on your 22 number but I don't know which guy aside from Brown and Justice we counted forward. Rique, Rambo and Johnson I believe were all here for Spring. Plus we already had counted Williams forward from last class so its becoming a little difficult to keep track of.

FSU was always higher in the recruiting rankings than us for years. It didn’t make much of a difference in terms of titles. Let everything play out. Long way to go before signing day. Maybe these guys know what they are doing. They should have a handle on the local kids even w covid issues last year. I think you will see some real sleepers emerge this year when the dust settles. Not that I want a group full of them though

Wonder if they feel safe about someone like Nesta staying.
When you say staying so you mean like leaving to the league or hopping in the portal?

I’d say if he has a solid year he bounces. Not that that is the correct choice.

Bounce to the league.

The team in 2022 could be really loaded, so if he wants to stay and win a title, why not.

Miami isn't really recruiting him (Tarber) hard anymore. Appears that they have backed off a bit. I'd be surprised if he ends up here.
I think that really sucks.
I also think we are going to be looking back in a few years kicking ourselves for letting get away.
Smartest guy in the room syndrome strickes again.

Not directly talking about Nesta but with NIL I think you are going to see a lot of dudes who ain't for sure top 3 round picks come back.

This is an example of ranking and offers not lining up.... Dude is listed at 6'2 320 lbs with "listed" offers from UM, GT, Arkansas, Auburn, Indiana, Iowa State, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, Ole Miss, Penn State, UNC, Michigan, Pitt, texas A&M, South Carolina and West Virginia, yet doesnt crack the top 1,000 of overall players....
