What’s going on there?
He's gone 10-3, 11-2, 8-4 in his first 3 seasons with wins over #5 LSU, #8 Michigan, #7 Auburn, #5 UGA and went toe to toe with one of the best teams to ever play last year against Bama and you think he's on the hot seat because of half a season?
****, so if there ever comes a time where we actually get a sniff of sustained success half this board is going to run the coach out of town after 2 bad months, eh? Just CIS things....
I'd take Mullen over Manny in a heartbeat. Say what you want about Mullen but he's a **** good offensive coach. He would win 9-10 games a season hereFire Diaz. LMAO
FFS how many times does it need repeating if you can't win at Texas, Michigan and Florida, you suck, period.I'd take Mullen over Manny in a heartbeat. Say what you want about Mullen but he's a **** good offensive coach. He would win 9-10 games a season here

Dan Mullen is 33-12 at Florida. He's 4-3 on the season with a 2 Point loss to Alabama and 7 point losses to Kentucky and LSU. Mullen would win here, I get were supposed to hate him because he's UF coach but I would place him on my Top 5 most wanted HCs if he becomes available. He does very good work with QBs and his OLs are usually solid. Defense would be the question mark with himFFS how many times does it need repeating if you can't win at Texas, Michigan and Florida, you suck, period.
I read a pretty good article about that on The Athletic (paywall) by Andy Staples.Where are yall hearing that Mullen is possibly getting fired?
Anybody have a link to an article or podcast about it? I’d like to see/hear it.
Except the whole 33-12 part.Any of this sound familiar, by the way?
I completely agree. The optics (hire a coach that UF fired) wouldn't be good though but I think he would be a good candidate for us.Dan Mullen is 33-12 at Florida. Yeah I'm not even asking for the next Nick Saban. I just won't a competent HC who can turn us into a consistent Top 25 Program. Just win 9/10 Games a year and win half of our big games and compete in the ones we lose. That's all I'm asking for, just tired of being a joke. I think Mullen could do that.I completely agree. As for recruiting, if Manny Diaz and a washed Mark Richt managed to bring to UM top 15-ish classes, Mullen could do the same and it will be enough to win the Coastal and make a run at the ACC title every year.
Also with Mullen we wouldn't have to worry about the OC anymore.
Agreed. Noles are stuck with him for awhile no matter what. Mullet maaayy have another year, but his time is definitely running short. Unless he somehow miraculously beats UGA, wins the SEC East and at a minimum makes it to the SEC Championship, the natives in Gainesville are done with him.0% Norvell is fired even if they lose the next 5 games.
None really. Contact is already being made to gauge interest so that is all that matters.I'm not sure what the advantage would be to firing someone mid season as it pertains to hiring a new candidate. Nobody can hire a new coach until after the season is over anyway, right? Unless you're hiring an unemployed coach. I can see how it might placate fans and maybe keep a locker room from being engulfed in flames if it's that type of scenario but what difference does it make in terms of hiring a new coach?
I can see them letting him try to right the ship before firing him this year. He just got an extension before this season. His buyout before the extension was $12million and is probably closer to $14m now. It's not just CIS, actually, for once.
He's legitimately on the hot seat. He's 2-6 in his last 8 games against Power 5 teams. Yes, 2 of those games were against Alabama. But two were against completely depleted and ravaged LSU teams. One was against Kentucky, who the gator beat up for 30 years straight recently. He's also been incredibly weird for a majority of his tenure there, and his recruiting is terrible, to put it nicely. If your recruiting has been poor and is getting worse, and you can't beat any decent teams, your seat is going to be mighty warm. Any of this sound familiar, by the way?
