Tyson Campbell recruitment??

Could it be Surtain (head coach) or Chad of AH in his ear? Just wondering, they have the most access to TC and the rest of the AH kids...

Why would Surtain Sr be against Rumph? Didn't Rumph have him as an assistant at AH and help him get the HC gig at AH after Rumph left?

Maybe Rumph was difficult to work for while he was HC. Something is amiss here.
Maybe it's as simple as Rumph is a terrible recruiter. He might not have the personality that allows him to genuinely suck up to 17 year olds and try to convince them why UM is so awesome. Herbert came out after signing day and said Rumph needs to get better at recruiting.

Anyone still trying to deny this is a moran.

If Rumph looses Jobe,Frierson and Campbell how can Right justify keeping him on staff.

Banda is the main recruiter for Jobe and frierson

On top of that....he TOLD all of these kids not to go to UM when he was the HC.

How on earth is he to be trusted by those same kids.

Would you send your kids if you care about them to play under coach donofrio and golden?

Maybe the kid just realizes he's got 3 to 4 years of Paradise camps he can go to after he signs his Miami loi. He doesn't need to go to this one, he can take other free visits and still get his paradise on later.

Yeah except the trip to Clemson isn't free.

Youre an idiot.

Have you ever seen a D1 program hire a HS coach and then have him fail so badly to deliver local guys? This dude can't even get kids that he's coached their whole lives. This is an unprecedented abortion.

People rip Ice Harris, but that dude at least had some level of local juice.

Rattler has been cool to share what he has, I believe to add to the excitement of the fan base...because he's a fan in a unique position. Don't let the knuckle heads get to you Rattler

This is the truth. No kid would look good on D, and it would potentially cost them millions of dollars in 3-5 years. How could any coach, with any ounce of credibility, say "You should choose UM" when the scheme was completely wrong for them? We didn't deserve to have defensive recruits steered our way. I respect Rumph more for steering them away, than had he tried to convince them to go to UM simply because that's where he went. That's a coach looking after his players.

As for him needing to be a better recruiter, that is just garbage. Once young men start seeing the product he's producing they will want to play for him. It's the young men that need to make a decision. Do they want to put more stock in feeling loved/pampered, or do they want to get better and make a **** of a lot more money?

Some kids want a recruiter to kiss their *** and make them feel special. Some kids want a coach who will turn you into an NFL draft pick.

On top of that rumph said that the U coaches barely even came around. **** they didn't even think Tavarus McFadden could play cb at Miami and now he just had a season he led the nation in ints.... on top of that when rumph was there who was miami caliber outside of Michel and McFadden? We didn't purse the receiver that was a Miami legacy that ended up at Tennessee, Gibson was stuck on this Ima qb wave and look how that turned out. Who could he have pushed away from miami?...

Since i can't reply directly to the snitches (The Francesca) quote without a moderator (tried but i wasn't allowed) i will have to post with out the quote.

if you really knew S Fla football you would know HS coaches recruit kids to attend their schools. Some as early as pop warner/optimist football. do you really think all those kids at AH live within a 5 miles radius of the school?? how about the kids at St Thomas, NW, Doral Academy and so on, if they want to win they will recruit. Rumph recruited some of those kids directly or indirect. Like others mentioned before, maybe they want to leave s fla or are doing their due diligence that they rightly deserve. Hard work pays off.

You guys are glossing over Rumph telling his kids not to go to UM. You're even justifying it. You can cite the "who else would play for Alf!" nonsense all you want but the implied (or not) message there is "don't go to UM". Bottom line is Rumph talked kids into not going to UM for years. You can assign context to it as much as you'd like but with high school kids, that message from Rumph makes a lasting impression - something that will take several recruiting cycles for a new coach to undo. Then, you have the goofballs like Wilson STILL hanging around the program and I guarantee you, Rumph's message (although outdated) is still ringing throughout that campus.

You would have. Coaches and mentors tell kids all the time it's about the school not the coach. There is a difference between guiding your player and ****ting on a school.

True, someone like chad Wilson who son was one of the top ranked dbs in south Florida last year and after a year that we put on a great product of defense had not one valid excuse to not send his kid to Miami though
