Ty Simpson (has declared for the draft)

Why aren't they talking this way about Ty Simpson? He's older, but he's even less experienced. I think Ty Simpson is a wild guess as a 1st round NFL QB in 2026.
I have seen that for Simpson too. IT was just closer to the time he declared. Not sure of the source and whether it was ESPN or not.

This may get negged but I say roll with Nickel. He's been right next to Beck all year. Develop Coleman. We got WRs and RBs. Our run game next year will carry the team. Spend that 6.5 mill on LB, DE. Defense wins championships.

I understand but there’s no guarantee he’ll be a first round pick next year. A lot can happen between now and then. And while $6.5mm is great, it’s way less than what he’s going to bank with a first round contract.
That contract will be there next year and he's taking a chance he'll be in the top 10.

You really need to pay attention to the context they are using. They never said they heard hes leaning towards leaving now.

It was speculation based on how hes played and whether they think staying would actually raise his stock.
No you need to pay attention. They didn’t say it was their opinion and what they saying has changed. Before the playoffs they were saying it was some belief that he was coming back

I’m sure diligence is thorough. Nothing guaranteed, but he’ll have a pretty good idea. Certainly much more certain of a projection for this year’s draft than next year’s.

I don’t see him leaving the draft to come to Miami.
He’s from Tennessee and he and his family are likely not too enamored with playing here after playing at bama.

As cane fans we really don’t understamd how far our brand has fallen nor how we are perceived in the south. One playoff appearance may not be enough to change that.

You have to realize that Miami was never and option, a back up, nor a last resort by a kid who’s from the south and was recruited by Saban. It’s a dream come true. And if he is getting day one grades it would be a hail of a pull by Mario. Money or not.

Kids want to feel good about the choices they make. I just don’t see him being hyped about forgoing the draft after playing at bama to come here.

But this is the type of stuff that Mario does. So let’s see.

Ty Simpson >>> Dylan Raiola.

Not even close.

Would be plenty good with running out Simpson for the season opening in September

At the end of the day they might be trying to run it up .... haven't seen his name as a first rounder on any of the legit draft boards ..these agents are working hard to increase those bags...

Pretty much a consensus first rounder here.
