Ty Simpson (has declared for the draft)

each of these mocks are done by the best guys who have intel with front offices. It's not CIS mock draft. USA Today, Jordan Reid, Peter Schrager, and Josh Edwards are the best.

But I hear you. Can you provide for me something from experts that contradicts Sanders having a first round grade?

How about the fact that he went in the FIFTH round?

You honestly believe that a guy with a FIRST ROUND GRADE is going to drop to the fifth round...because Neon Deion?

Get the **** out...

This may get negged but I say roll with Nickel. He's been right next to Beck all year. Develop Coleman. We got WRs and RBs. Our run game next year will carry the team. Spend that 6.5 mill on LB, DE. Defense wins championships.

You roll with the QBs on the roster if next year is a complete reset.

Don’t pay for any upperclassmen, let them enter the portal, and save your money for the next season.

No, that is how you enter a tailspin. F that. Get Longstreet or St. Clair. Get a 5 star and start cooking. F the bums currently on the qb depth chart.

Dawson had Cam Ward with that number one, please refer to last year‘s pop tart bowl first half vs second half of that bowl game when Cam left the number one offense like you say
I guess lane kiffin can't develop then right? why else would he have to go get leavitt or Chambliss last year

or Ryan day when he had to get will Howard or Julian sayin

I guess we should want a Gunnar Stockton situation that doesn't get to the natty

That's not the argument. The argument is, did Sanders have a first round grade? And he did. Was it a consensus first round grade? Of course not. But to argue that going into the draft that Sanders did not have a first round ground by many GMs and NFL front offices is just foolish.

And secondly, we're not going to be rude. So, if that is the route you're going to take in this dialogue, go someplace else please. Thank you. And Go Canes.

May be way off, but Simpson strikes me as an SEC guy who cringes at the thought of playing for Miami. Yes, money talks. But I would’ve had a real hard time playing for UF when I was in school. Rational or not, I probably would’ve entered the draft rather than play for a team I hated growing up.
He has also talked about wanting to only being a one school guy. His father being a coach has to know that he needs more reps if he wants to have sustained success.

I would say that, outside of UF fans for obvious reasons, the prevailing attitude of SEC fans towards Miami (both as a program and a “place”) is largely one of indifference rather than “hatred”.

That’s not to say there aren’t haters just like with every area of the country of course, or that it wouldn’t be an awkward cultural fit.

If next year is a complete reset?

Wtf are you smoking buddy. Next years team will be in playoffs again, the only position in question is QB, which is the position you want to purposely neglect.

One side of my family is from the Deep South and they all loathe Miami. All the cousins went to Bama and Auburn. Maybe that’s changed in recent years since we’ve been irrelevant, but most traditional SEC fans I know grew up hating Miami.

Huh?
I don’t want to purposely neglect it.
It’s sad how it has been handled where it appears we need to pray for a miracle again.

But that miracle probably isn’t coming. And if that is the case, then you’re in a reset next year.

You aren’t actually competing for a national title with any of these QBs.

I agree we’ll be the team to beat in the ACC and preseason top 10.

But QB is not the only position we need to replace imo. At least if we want to contend for another NC, which should be the goal every year from here on out.

I didnt say QB is the only position we need to replace. I said its the only one in question.

The other positions, we have commits, targets, or plenty of options.

QB is the one that is questionable as to what will happen.

The concept of a reset in college football doesnt make sense. There is no draft where you can get better if you do worse.

In college football you need to go full throttle every single year. Every win is important. If a mediocre QB gets us to 9 wins instead of 6 with a reset qb, you take the mediocre qb all day because at 6 wins you lose all momentum as a program.

There is zero benefit to what you proposed.

I absolutely hate ND and UF. I'd be there with bells on for $6.5 million and chance to get experience bolstering my resume to be a first round draft pick, not just the best available in a crappy year.

We still need:

OL (OT & C)
QB
Edge
DT
LB
DB (depending if we lose to portal after title game)

It doesn't look like we're even pursuing a center, so I believe we got our starter on the roster already. I'm sure the South Carolina kid commits if Bell pulls the trigger. I wouldn't necessarily count on LB either

I'm not worried about Edge, DT and Kicker. We will get guys there
