Two biggest takeaways

Respectfully disagree. He’s got some good measurables. He’s not an elite route runner and he doesn’t have elite hands. He’s a better athlete than he is a WR. Good college football player and can have a good season. He needs to for us to be really good. But he’s not an elite talent at the position.
I'm not saying he's a well rounded WR that you go to in clutch situations (that's probably Jordan), but he's a game changer in that he can take the top off the defence at any given moment.

Payton or Redding becoming Ahmmon Richards is not only ridiculously wishful thinking, but suggesting that it’s the key to whether or not Miami has a long season is completely ridiculous and, frankly, wrong.

Not saying they become AR15., maybe i worded that poorly. No WR on this team has his potential in my opinion. But team would be WAY better off if we had a true WR1 type. KJ Osborn played this role last year and did a great job. Now we have NO ONE reliable to go to (unless you count Brevin as a TE). **** even a Berrios type would be clutch.

This WR by committee (Pope, Wiggins, Harley) is average at best and will be straight dismal at times (like todays game)

My biggest takeaway tonight is we have a MAJOR problem at the CB spot opposite Blades.

Defend him, make excuses for him, cry me a f'ing river for him....but Rumph's recruiting misses over the years are going to end up being this teams Achilles heel. We need one of the younger guys to grow up, and step up in a hurry.

WR is obviously another area where our depth chart leaves much to be desired.

I really can't help but think how stupid Bandy and Jeff Thomas are/were. They both would have been better served coming back for another year and both would have been the best players at their position with a chance to shine.

Well. Im open to being wrong. You tell me.

I just did tell you. UAB has faced 5 running backs this season. All 5 have averaged over 6 yards a carry. For 8 months this site has told me that last season didn’t matter, losing to FIU and getting shut out in a bowl didn’t matter, because this year is different.

And you know what? They’re right. This is a different year with a different team. So why do we think UAB has some great defense because they were solid last year? You can’t have it both ways.

Because I watch film and read Mr. Roffers posts.
Actually - I'm going to answer that fully. And this is from the TV view - their interior defensive line for UAB pushed Miami into the backfield. We couldn't stretch a play because they played sound edge. They rushed more than we could cover and King had to scramble.

Positives
King, RBs, TEs, K&P all very good. DEs didn’t come across as elite but also very good. Safeties weren’t tested, assuming that’s a good sign. K Smith flashed but still a project. Lashlee”s up tempo was fun to watch, not the pull your fingernails out with pliers torture that was Dan Enos” offense.

Negatives
No go-to WR will be a problem. OL now no longer worst in ACC but still bottom half. LBs can thump but are slow and stiff, and McCloud still getting washed out by linemen after 4 years, smh. Ivey shouldn’t be starting at CB but who is better? Nice to see Pope settle down on returns. But he scared the crap out of me for most of the first half. Baker is not Miami DC material.

I'm not too worried about the o line on pass pro. Almost every time we threw it was obvious passing downs so UAB would dial a blitz package and twists. Diaz even said they came into this game to establish running and mow down. My worry is cb2 ivey was getting torched all night long there were plenty plays he was beat bad but bad throws and the QB looking elsewhere saved him from a historically bad game. William's needs to step up fast csz ivey will cost us alot of games if he sees majority snaps

Their coaching didn't change my friend. Remember we are on the same team. I'm saying they have sound coaching, but different personnel.

I have concerns with Pope returning punts. Huge mistake in fumble and got very lucky on a punt he fielded inside the 10 and had a nice return on.

Jalen Phillips is lightning fast off the edge. Was awesome tonight but have concerns teams will try to screen pass on Miami a lot to his side.
