TVD observation

you could see he was absolutely trying to will this team to a win on his back...props for that
problem is he just isnt good enough...only facts. still love the kid for trying.
Nice let's bash a kid after he led the offense to 40+ points and 400+ and come to the realization after his first road start as a 19 year old Redshirt Freshman that he's just not good enough

Anyone who can't see how good TVD will become as a quarterback does not know football. You guys are out of your minds after seeing him play the last 2 weeks. Great quarterbacks are always judged by 4th quarters and that kid has had 2 great 4th quarters. The rest is coming and is easier.
Most guys nut up in the 4th and can't stand the pressure of willing a team to a win.

Its tough to get a good read on him thus far. He seems to lack a certain moxie in his demeanor and language but he kinda showed a bit of it in the 4th quarter today. Need more data on him and we'll get it over the rest of the season.

His lack of accuracy is the most concerning thing for me. I can see him getting better at going through his progressions but again, the accuracy issue concerns me the most about him.

The growing pains this year will hopefully bear fruit in fall camp next season and beyond. He has a lot to work on but this season is a wash already, so let's watch him develop and look forward to a QB competition next year.

The arm accuracy will come as he improves some mechanics, but he was completely in charge in the most difficult times in 2 straight games. That is quite uncommon for a redshirt freshman.

calm down junior...I wasn't bashing anyone. if you had played any ball, you would see the issues.
I like the kid alot - he just isn't what UM caliber SHOULD be....
Lmao the ol, if you played any ball you would think what I think Quote. How is he not UM caliber? In 2 games he led the offense to 28, should be 31 and 42 points in his first 2 starts as a 19 year old QB. If you can't see the potential TVD has then idk what to tell you. Yes he has things to work on but this was literally his first road start in college football.

Yes, he made some bad decisions. Expected of a first start in a hostile environment.

he also made some great throws and he kept us alive with his feet, showed a ton of heart, a definite competitor.

There were a couple throws tonight that I was extremely impressed with. Did a great job of escaping pressure and making something happen.

Just my opinion tho

you pick fights with literally everyone on this board - now it's my turn?? lol ok
Nah fam...that aint me. I ain't arguing with someone I know doesn't know ball.
I'm not gonna be yet another one of your enemies made....
You be you....just ignore me or don't read anything I say.

The mechanical adjustment usually takes time. Typically accuracy goes down for a bit. Kinda like changing your golf swing.

Another item of note is that TVD is deceptively more athletic than he appears. He moved well in the pocket and ran well overall.

The athleticism will help the total package. He almost tied/won a game tonight with his leg and 2 critical runs.

Why are a lot of his passes so low? Dude's a big guy yet he's throwing at people's feet way too often. Last example being with the pass to Rooster after deftly evading a rusher in the final drive. He makes that pass and we're at the 15 with a fresh set of downs and 30+ seconds to play with.

Guy showed some good and some really bad. I hope Garcia has a chance when he gets back to full health. Especially considering there'll be nothing to play for when he gets back.

I think he's just a guy. I don't see anything there, especially under Lashlee.

Maybe we can get Ken Dorsey down here to call plays and coach QBs or someone similar and we can make something out of him, but as is...idk.

Let's not get caught up in the heroics and forget that he made some god-awful decisions and throws today.
Exactly. Some poor decisions and I don't get why he doesn't throw the ball away....unless it is a free play, then he throws the ball away. Can't make this **** up.

I give him props though because he doesn't give up and keeps grinding.

I don’t think he completed a pass downfield all night. And most throws downfield were uncatchable balls including a couple PI calls we were gift wrapped. I often times don’t know what games this fanbase is watching. I’m not sure I can name a single high level throw he made tonight minus the throw for the 2 point. He makes King look like an elite passer

We’ve been thru this many times before. Some of our posters have a huge blind spot with who receives their benefit of doubt and who doesn’t. Y’all reaching. Dude is a war beast because he didn’t ask to come out of the game, when no ones does that 😂. Just creating alternative reality. Let the dude play and earn his stripes with wins and a actual complete game of good QB play. Can’t expect props until that occurs, and that expectation is no where near hating.

Personally I just don't see it with him. Just not a fan of his. Did he make some good plays sure. But there was also a lot of bad. I think in the long run either Jake or a transfer will be the starter when the next coaching staff comes in.

We had two consecutive weeks with less than 100 yds in the first half. Great qbs are judged by stats and wins and rings and trophies…

he’s a gamer with heart, but that’s as far as I can go
