TV wants no part of Corch Al's scheme (quote)

If some of you don't think Genron had a small hand in this then i got a nice beach house to sell you in Upstate NY..

Genron wouldn't have any ammunition to use against UM if Alpo wasn't such a disaster. If Alpo fielded even a competent defense (wouldn't have to be great), we'd have TV because Hurlie does work.

Yeah, you're probably right.

three recruiting classes and he can't land a 4 star HS DT at Miami.

He's pathetic. It's the same reason Coker couldn't land a WR--our offense sucked, so no WR's wanted to play in it.

Let's ignore the fact that he has recruited under a 3 year investigation while recruiting the most competitive position down south in DT's.

If you were a DT would you sign up to come play at Miami when other programs are telling you they're about to get hammered??

Would you turn down UF or FSU or LSU or anywhere else that has a major program if you thought they were going to hammer Miami?

Don't let this get in the way of bashing a HC who has stuck through this mediocre program, and is trying to undue about 8 years of horrible coaching.

Also let's turn a blind eye to the fact that this HC and DC actually scouted and developed 2 DT's at Temple better than any DT LSU has put in the league recently.

Commence the bashing...

And he still lost at Temple to teams with less talent ? The last two years he had good classes but failed to land top DTs because nobody wants to play in his system.

If you were an elite talent like TV, would you come to Miami to play for a head coach who hasn't fired his defensive coordinator despite more than sub-par results? Play for a guy who will keep his best friend on the staff even if it's a detriment to the team?

If you were an elite talent like TV, would you choose to play in a defensive scheme that hinders the natural aggression of it's personnel?

If you were an elite talent like TV, would you choose to play for LSU, the team that is currently most represented in the NFL and known for aggressive defenses, or a team who's head coach recently tried to bail for his alma mater only to be rejected?

What’s really troubling its AG scheme and will he change it is the real question? If not he will be sent packing next year and I wouldn’t think one top D1 school would ever give him a chance for a very long time. You can’t win in Miami the home of the NFL, why would another team want you with a lot less home grown talent.

I believe Golden will run an attack defense this year and you'll see a lot of man on man, bump n`run coverage as well. You can't run an aggressive defense when you don't have the players and we didn't. I DOUBT Valentine loved his trip to ice cold & ice stormed Baton Rouge. LSU has some major issues that could hit their program as well. I'll write about it on another site ( I can't originate articles here for some reason )

You got my attention write whats the issues are about and with who?

I don't blame TV, he wants nothing to do with the dumpster fire thats UM football.

I don't blame him either. I'm a selfish fck viewing this all in light of what's best for me as a UM fan, and that's why I think he should come to UM. But if I step away from that biased perspective, there's really no reason he should choose UM over LSU as a DT.

It really sucks that Diabeetus Gut has turned our defense into such a cesspool that it's almost impossible to rationally sell it to anyone.

When this man gets all logical and steps away from his UM fandom, you know **** has gotten bad. I really cannot believe that we have gotten to this point with Al Golden. I mean, right now I'm sitting here absolutely knowing that the 2014 season is going to be a disaster, especially defensively. I was more optimistic heading into Shannon's 4th year. At this point I'm just ready to get this season over with and see what the fallout is. smh

Man you better hope against everything that you are wrong. I really don't see anything getting better in that scenario. Not easy to come off 3 straight failed coaching staffs. We are already behind the 8-ball for a variety of reasons (private school, poor fan support etc). If there is anything we've struck out on more than Defensive Tackles its high profile head coaches... And with each failed coach the job becomes a lower prestige job.

Personally, I disagree because I look at it differently. IF we end up with a change at the top, I think what we need to do is take a chance on a guy that's innovative. It's not about UM being a high profile job because I'll say this much, no matter how long we suck, if offered, an OC like Malzahn would leave his current coordinator position to take the UM job (of course I'm speaking as to back when he was available). We don't need to look for high profile coaches. We need to find an up and comer that seems to be pretty **** top notch at his side of the ball. Lost in all of this talk about street agents and boosters and kids getting paid is the fact that it's been a long **** time since I think any of us could say that it would be exciting to play in that particular UM offense or that particular UM defense. We need to change that, fear of a guy not having head coaching experience be damned.

You know what, you are right. I caught myself with your same argument today complaining about the Dolphins. The Dolphins hire an offensive coordinator that never called plays and has no specialty as a Head Coach. Now the offense sucks... now what.. now you are hiring some outside O Coordinator... i'd rather just make the new O coordinator the head coach and hire a killer D coordinator.

That's our problem, Golden is defensive specialist and that is the bad side of the ball.. now what?

so how can you explain the talented kids that play other positions that came in during this time? Anomalies?

Like I said in some other threads, he gone.

*I asked Champagnat Catholic DT Travonte Valentine how his LSU trip was and his response – “It fits my country personality

Yes I would for one live in Miami not Baton Rouge for 3 years.

Also I know the other players Miami is bringing in at DL to help me not get all the attention.

I also know the current D staff proved they can develop real talent which can help me make millions.

So yes I would choose Miami over LSU, it's not slurping it's called knowing football.

For one DBs and WRs and skill positions grow on trees in south Florida, 4 and 5 star DTs much harder to find, thus so much competition for just a small amount.

agree. But Golden signed either none, or total busts who were non-contributors, which is simply unacceptable.

Les Miles flirted not once but twice with his alma mater Michigan to get raises and other financial concessions for his staff and facilities and most recently even did the same with conference rival Arkansas (they ultimately hired Bielema) and garnered a big raise and extension from LSU.

It's Golden's scheme. D'Onofrio is just his clueless butt buddy who's running it for him.

God I hate them so much.

I don't get the "hate".

I get frustration with the D and Golden's allegiance to his coordinator. I get frustration with how the season ended with Duke and VT. The bowl performance. All that. But "hate"?

But "I hate them so much" and posting 5 pages of the same thing over and over on the RECRUITING page is total self defeatist in its actions. Truth be told the administration has put its confidence in a Golden in the short, if not long term. For now they fully support thanking him for guiding UM through the NCAA mess (which he did play a role) and buying into he needs time to recruit unfettered from "the cloud".

Many of you guys seem to prefer that Golden fails on the field and in recruiting just so you can say you are right on a message board. Me, I want UM to recruit well, see the defense improve and win. I hope AG and his staff are the right guys but I don't want to tear down the program under the name of saving it.

It's a week before NSD. Shouldn't the mantra simply be "Go Canes and F@CK FSU"?
