Tutu Atwell

So let’s not take a very productive player cause there’s a chance he may have a bad game against Clemson???? Man this site is full of cant get rights!!!!

Very productive player? If he was a very productive player, didn't Alabama and LSU and Florida and Florida State also miss on him?

You sound like an idiot here... talent lives outside of S.Florida....

Some of the best players to EVER wear a U are not from the fabled “STATE OF MIAMI” alot of you slurp on

Tutu was a miss but kid was **** bent on a shot at QB and the staff knew straight up lying to the kid could damage relations way more than being able to always say “we loved him as a slotWR but not QB and looks like we were right!!”
I mean if a prospect in sfla is elite u take him.... obviously if an OOS prospect is elite u take them.

The difference is none of those schools are within a stones throw of his high school campus. We have to do a better job of not missing on kids like this. The bag chasers are gonna get paid and leave Miami regardless. To combat that you can fill the gaps with very productive Underrated players. I am saying sign a whole class of Tutu Atwells, no what I am saying is this kid should be balling at Miami and not ducking Louisville. And I am not talking about Tutu, but I’m just using him as an example. I know there where other factors in play that led to him going to Lville.

Okay, like I asked the other guy, could you please let us know who those players are right now? Which high school players are under the radar and will kill it somewhere else if we don't grab them?

I don’t get paid millions of dollars to evaluate talent bro. Hence me saying our coaching staff has to do a better job. I am pretty sure there is a running back committed to Pitt right now that this staff will regret not taking.

Got it. So we want them to identify hidden gems, but we have no idea who those kids are.

WTF do you have Mannys number, call him and tell him to take Henry Parrish ASAP. It’s not my job to know who this kids are thats on the staff. Ask El or Gogeta they probably can run down of list of people we missed on waiting on higher ranked prospects that signed somewhere else.

Exactly. It's all hindsight. No one wants to name those kids in advance.

Its not 1979 anymore. Miami Northwestern high school isn't a secret. Every major school in the country watches games from every major football school in south Florida now. Every single year, multiple games a year, because there is top tier division 1 talent on those teams every cycle that every big boy school wants to evaluate.

We knew he was a good athlete, we also knew he was going to the school that would let him play QB. That wasn't going to be here.

This has less to do with Miami missing on a kid and more to do with Louisville getting lucky he didn't transfer and talk a bunch of **** when he got his position changed. Nobody denies his athleticism. He is ******* tiny and that turns a lot of schools off, and a lot of other schools weren't going to waste time with a kid proving he isn't a quarterback.

Like I said in my post if you would have read, I was not talking specifically about Tutu Atwell only using him as an example. I know it’s not 1979 anymore bro I know how to read a calendar. Miami misses on a bunch of kids and I am not talking about the five stars. Doesn’t matter how many schools scout South Florida, kids like this should not be leaving south Florida and balling out in ******* Louisville of all places.

"Kids like this"..........as though the dude is getting invited to the Heisman ceremony.

I see 47 receptions for 810 yds. & 8 TDs...more than double the production that Dee Wiggins has had throughout His career, and as many TDs as Jeff Thomas has had during His career. But naaaaaah, according to you we don't need that type of production, right?...LOL

Funny what you see and what I see.
I see 4 TD's vs Eastern Kentucky and Western Kentucky.
I see him benefiting from the offense they run and a ****** defense.
I see he disappeared against ND and Clemson just like he did against us after the first 8 minutes of the game.
Arguably the biggest 3 games of the year for Louisville.
I see a muffed punt with 10 minutes left in the third after they got a stop and had a little momentum going that basically ended the game.
So no, we don't need that type of production
(the corny "LOL" intentionally left out).

It's not at Louisville either...admit it, Richt f u cked up.
No, Richt didn't **** up, he was not a take, and him having 1 good play against us doesn't change that. Atwell inserted into our roster is sitting the bench right now, waiting his turn and backing up JT4, or more likely, transferring and getting us bad mouthed locally because he isn't starting in front of Jarren Williams.

You guys can point to these outliers all you want. If we take the fast midget every year we are going to have 4 wasted scholarships for 1 kick returner to show for it unless we have a scheme overhaul.

And like you don't seem to understand, I am saying the inherent recruiting advantage of being local is not what it used to be. Being within a stones throw of 500 recruits doesn't actually allocate too much more time to them individually especially when a lot of evaluation, recruiting, and contact has become digital, and when playing for Miami doesn't have the allure that it did 20 years ago.

It doesn't matter where he ended up balling out. Louisville cleans up the south Florida scraps, he is no more a miss for us than Florida state, Florida, or any other host of superior-to-louisville programs that watched Miami northwestern play while he was there. This is only a problem for some local guys who are personally invested emotionally in this kid.

Not every school has the benefit of exposure to these late fliers. Miami has a built in advantage of local scouting, relationships, camps. We are arguing two different points. I get that these kids want Miami to offer first, string them along & then claim they gotta get the bag. That's a different discussion. I'm referring to lower tier recruits that have been identified by local posters & ignored by our staff.

*Dozens was in reference to since I've followed, not each year.
Look, there's no winning for the staff. If they concentrate on under the radar kids they get blasted for giving up on top guys. If they go after top guys they get this about not showing the 3* kids love. Miss on the top guys and you should have kept communication open with 3* guys. Keep communication open, and you're stringing them along. Even when you get the top guys you wanted, there's always a kid who was under-recruited who balls out elsewhere and fans say the staff is so stupid for not going after them. No matter what they do there is always a complaint.

And it's not about this staff, this has been going on since long before I started paying attention.
