But as you well know, there are a ton of part time corches on this board with NFL scout neighbors who wont be happy unless Richt picks their "guy".

Some of these same part time coaches, I was one, nailed the inadequacies of our former HC within the 1st few games. This isn't rocket science if you know how to analyze the data that is out there.

Well that is good because, and how do I say this kindly,...you are certainly no rocket scientist nor do I surmise from anything I have ever read of yours that you have been, are, or will ever be entrusted to analyze any type of "data" other than how many brown Oxfords were sold at the Pay Less you likely manage.

the last coach was from a mac program and all coaches deserve a chance to actually coach at your school before u rip them. Coaching hires havent even been made or announced. there are rumors and odds are some are right but thomas brown as rb coach and hartley as special teams coordinator aren't bad hires.

richt won 10 games a yr at georgia in sec. was on play away from playing for national title a couple yrs ago and won 2 sec titles. thats a resume miami has never had in a new hc hire. he deserves some leeway since has been here for 3 weeks at most.

its not blind faith. richt has a track record. he got fired for winning 9 games. butch jones got a 500 k raise for winning 8, has richt had some bad teams yes but his bad teams win 8-9 games his good teams win 11 or more. he knows how to find good coaches. grantham wasn't a bad dc, pruitt wasn't either.

the one bad hire was martinez as dc. even then he fired him after a bad year. unlike golden who kept donofrio through everything. richt has shown that when he makes a mistake he will fix it.

How many wins has Richt had at his time at UGA?

How many NC's? That is still the goal of the U, correct?

Ahh name me 1 NC winning coach that would have taken this job? No coach of those credentials would touch this program. Bottom line is, he is the most accomplished coach the U has ever hired. Hopefully this gets him over the hump.

The guy was just fired from his jab last month for non performance, and on top of that, his teams were slightly above average the past 3 years.

Lastly, if he brings Willie Martinez on as DC, we're all going to have a big problem on our hands

I don't need to "trust" Richt. I'm fine with Richt hiring whomever he wants as assistant coaches. He knows the expectations here. If he fails here it's on him, just like it was on Golden. Golden wasn't going to be saved by some assistants and neither will Richt if he isn't up to par.
