It seems like people don't like the idea of getting the QB from the #1 HS football team in the nation.
You of course know that this would not be the first time that we've done that right?

This kid had an offer I believe, just not one to play QB.
"Treon, rated a consensus four-star recruit as an athlete by Rivals.com, ESPN and 247Sports.com, received a scholarship offer from UM. But it was to play slot receiver or defensive back, not quarterback. Had the Hurricanes promised the same opportunity as the Seminoles, he said, “it probably would have come down to FSU or UM for me. I liked both of them growing up.”

Yep. Pretty much everyone here knew that, old buddy. He's going to be a Cane. Like I said the other day, he's had enough time to get over us not offering him first as a QB. UM is in his DNA.
Do you think he is good enough to be QB? There is going to be some backlash IMO if he gets beat out (honestly beat out) at QB and we try to switch positions.
Prior to this season, I didn't think he threw the ball well enough to be a QB at this level. But I changed my mind.
The game has changed quite a bit since we used to win with straight drop back mummies at QB. I think this dude can play QB here just like Manziel and other smaller guys who are accurate passers with great feet and great leadership ability have played QB successfully in college.
Don't forget that Texas wanted nothing to do with Manziel for many of the same reasons the dimmer UM fans don't want Treon to play QB here.
There is something different than the Manziel situation.
If Manziel honestly lost the QB job at Texas and M. Brown asked him to play DB, then nothing would occur. Manziel's dad is not Ice Harris. There would likely be no problems if Manziel lost the job to a superior player.
If Harris honestly gets beat out at Miami and we ask him to play X, there may be a backlash. I don't see Ice Harris (assuming his son complains) defending the HC if his son gets beat out honestly at QB. Maybe Olsen and Kaaya are better, perhaps the backup job (3rd string) would be a disservice to his son's athletic abilities. We ask him to move and boom goes the dynamite.
I don't care that he is 5'11 or 5'10 or 6'3, if he can play like Wilson or Manziel, that is certainly good enough for me.

Treon > Jacory

Treon > Jacory
It is nice to play the revisionist prognosticator now, but Jacory was the savior of the program at one point. Remember that story about his 90+ yd drive in the state playoffs where he called his own plays and led Miami NW to the win? People "just knew" he was the guy. Local legend. Winner. State Champion. Bringing south Florida elite players with him as well. The story is the same except for Shannon would've already had Treon in the fold because he loved BTW.

Clearly, Diabeetus Gut doesn't share those concerns because he offered him at the QB position. Treon is a good kid from all accounts. He's handled his recruitment like a pro. If he comes here and demands to play QB for 4 years, then I'm sure we'll keep him at QB. If he comes here and doesn't win the job within a couple years, then he'll probably ask to move.
**** NY that's pretty bold bro

It's pretty close In my opinion. Treon has a stronger arm and is without a doubt more athletic. Jacory has the height and was probably a bit more accurate coming out of High School. I guess it depends on the system as to who is the better prospect.
Let's be blunt, the fact that it's Booker T is a big deal.
No #WarEagles/#Tigers? That's odd. I'd honestly want to go to Auburn if I were him.
Thats the same thing I was thinking. He worked under Randy Shannon.
No college degree. No job.
Didn't stop Handy Randy from hiring him...
I'm pretty sure Randy hired him, then realized he didn't have a degree and therefore couldn't qualify to be a coach, so they made him a community liaison.
He wasn't allowed to coach or recruit, as that responsibility is reserved for.......,coaches.
Your coaches are supposed to be leaders and educators.
How can a coach impress upon a player the importance of his academic responsibilities if he failed in that endeavor?
"Why should I go to class coach, you never did?"[/QUOTE]
LOOK smart ***......
U can just check the records of kids at BTW since he's been coach.....its the reason i respected him evern BEFORE btw were winning state games,e tc.......dude doesnt even let kids play unless there getting a 2.5...he's a disciplinarian as far as school, class attendance..His own kids were academic scholars @ um.
Stop spouting off about ish u dont know,.....
BTW is located in THE WORST area in the city of miami...yet almost allll of their football prospects qualify year in year out...thats a feat....and even the herald wrote an article about it a few years back......ever since then i had respect for Ice.

he should go to Auburn, won't play QB here

I'm just tired of watching high school playmakers at the QB position go elsewhere and be utilized when they don't fit our size/style requirements.
Treon could go a long way there, and let's be blunt, the fact that it's Booker T is a big deal.
