It seems like people don't like the idea of getting the QB from the #1 HS football team in the nation.

It's all in good fun. Some of my best friends are retards. And the gag wouldn't have been quite as good if I had said, "Those people are known in the medical community as somewhat developmentally disabled in a very small aspect of life but very able in many other ways and super special and lovable people."
This kid had an offer I believe, just not one to play QB.
"Treon, rated a consensus four-star recruit as an athlete by Rivals.com, ESPN and 247Sports.com, received a scholarship offer from UM. But it was to play slot receiver or defensive back, not quarterback. Had the Hurricanes promised the same opportunity as the Seminoles, he said, “it probably would have come down to FSU or UM for me. I liked both of them growing up.”

How in the **** is that even remotely racist lol youre nuts bro. maybe it would be crazy becuz of what happened at BTW last year and how we offered Treon much later than some? lolit might sound crazy but i think ice wants him here. if we could lock down btw every year. that would mean so much to our program.
Are you saying it's crazy that a black man might want to be in the same area code as his son? This is racist filth.

Yep. Pretty much everyone here knew that, old buddy. He's going to be a Cane. Like I said the other day, he's had enough time to get over us not offering him first as a QB. UM is in his DNA.

Do you think he is good enough to be QB? There is going to be some backlash IMO if he gets beat out (honestly beat out) at QB and we try to switch positions.

isn't each situation different?. i mean if treon clearly dominates and he doesn't get the job chaos will surely ensue. if he soundly gets beaten out how is he going to complain in good conscience? well one can only hope it would go down that way.
Thats the same thing I was thinking. He worked under Randy Shannon.
Didn't stop Handy Randy from hiring him...
I'm pretty sure Randy hired him, then realized he didn't have a degree and therefore couldn't qualify to be a coach, so they made him a community liaison.
He wasn't allowed to coach or recruit, as that responsibility is reserved for.......,coaches.
Your coaches are supposed to be leaders and educators.
How can a coach impress upon a player the importance of his academic responsibilities if he failed in that endeavor?
"Why should I go to class coach, you never did?"[/QUOTE]
LOOK smart ***......
U can just check the records of kids at BTW since he's been coach.....its the reason i respected him evern BEFORE btw were winning state games,e tc.......dude doesnt even let kids play unless there getting a 2.5...he's a disciplinarian as far as school, class attendance..His own kids were academic scholars @ um.
Stop spouting off about ish u dont know,.....
BTW is located in THE WORST area in the city of miami...yet almost allll of their football prospects qualify year in year out...thats a feat....and even the herald wrote an article about it a few years back......ever since then i had respect for Ice.
I went to BTW back when it was an elementary school in the late 70's. I'm assuming it is the same school. Moved from Toronto to Palm Island and, for some reason that is where I and my 2 brothers were told to go to school.
I know it's a tough area. It's a lot tougher area if you had to walk there from Palm Island as one of only 3 Japanese/Canadian kids in the school.
The question is why Harris can't be a coach at Miami and the answer is that he's not qualified.
Is he even a teacher at BTW? Without a degree I hear it's tough to get a teaching certificate anywhere in America.
You think he's the reason kids qualify out of BTW?
Sell that somewhere else.
The vast majority of recruits qualify all across the country and the reason for that is that the qualifications are not that difficult.
You have to be an average student to qualify with a below average test score.
The ones who don't qualify are the exception, and the reason is because of a lack of average effort or a lack of average innate intelligence.
The NCAA is not asking for superior academic achievement.
They just won't allow the bottom of the barrel to take advantage of the system.
If you are going to laud anyone for BTW's success at getting athletes qualified for athletic scholarships look to the teachers who are doing an outstanding job.
Jut read this article..............

this isnt the one i was looking for ...but it gives u a glimpse...believe me those kids respect him more so than doing it for their teachers....keep in mind i AM a teacher currently...and i know EXACTLY how these kids think...You can tell them a thousand times something and it not resonate, while someone who they may respect might say the same exact thing and get them to complete the task...i commend the teachers and staff @ BTW thoug as i believe they do a good to great job considreing the circumstances and the surroundings they have...

Prior to this season, I didn't think he threw the ball well enough to be a QB at this level. But I changed my mind.
The game has changed quite a bit since we used to win with straight drop back mummies at QB. I think this dude can play QB here just like Manziel and other smaller guys who are accurate passers with great feet and great leadership ability have played QB successfully in college.
Don't forget that Texas wanted nothing to do with Manziel for many of the same reasons the dimmer UM fans don't want Treon to play QB here.

The problem arises in the rather huge gap between "clearly dominating" and "getting soundly beaten out". There is a lot of room between those two.
