Trayone Gray

Don't ask if anyone will qualify. No one knows.

Until you see them on the sidelines in game 1 assume nothing.

Admissions and the clearinghouse have owned us through the years.

Not true. There are a lot of people on this board with connections and frequently speak with sfl coaches, including carol city. And no, I'm not just talking about staff writers and mods.

They may have connections, but how can they definitively say whether or not they will qualify or not at this time?

There's what, 3 months of school left?

I get what you're saying, but this is not a just a credits issue. Kid has been suspended multiple times, failed to cooperate in class, received poor marks, etc.

People who have seen his transcripts say he's not getting in. That's all I need to know.

Maybe no one say "definitely" but people can be pretty **** sure. I can't say a lot of things definitely. But with all the information acquired it's pretty easy to say there's a very very high chance he won't play at Miami this year. It's like when people were holding out hope for Derrick Griffin. He was never getting in.

I responded to the post because IMO the poster made it seem like everyone is just guessing and out of the loop.

Is there any chance he can do something in the next 3 months to give himself a chance?

I hate to see talent wasted like that.

Any update on his chances of getting in?

Glad you´re here to ask. Course, it would make the board so much easier to read if we didn´t need these kind of threads. Maybe you peeps who have the info, instead of keeping it secret, could race to the forum in a rush to be the first to post it?

Well if any of you know Trayone, or his family, or his coaches, how about let them know that Cane Nation is depending on him to get it together. We need kids like him on this team and at UM in general. Kids like him are what built this program, he may never in his life receive another opportunity like this one. This is a life changing opportunity.

say it ain't so...does not seem like a Gore situation after all. Not sure Gore's true issue, but I thought it was just a learning school, not a behavior issue. toes and fingers crossed!!!

It's not the end game if he doesn't get in this year. Prep him, try it again next year. He's a 5-star talent to me, I'm not giving up on him just yet.

From here, it's up to the kid.

There's educated guesses and this kid is an obvious one, but thanks for actually supplying some insight rather than just some random , ****headed post that implies we should just take someones word for it.

IF he applies himself and associates with the "right" people, he can get in. Assuming, at this point, that he is not getting in is basically calling the kid a dumb rock with no hope. I wouldn't call it a day until May.

if kid cant qualify from Carol City i cant deal....

they have good teachers, they have the night school program @ the school...(to make up for early mess ups in high school career)....they have a head coach that was a recent college coach and others on staff that played college ball.

i gave up during the season when i saw he got suspended indefinately and missed a game or two...when he was THEIR team.....

he got 3 months to make up though and summer.....

at best i think he is a prep school kid just off an educated guess.

Keep in mind i think KID is a diamond of this class.

I've got him as a top 3 player in this class.

nobody knows. that's the bottom line.

Aldarius Johnson wasn't going to even get recruited by Miami because his grades were so bad. This was in August heading into his Senior Year.

One year late he not only got recruited, he got offered, then signed his LOI, and then got in on time.

I'm not saying this kid is going to make it in. But there isn't a person on here who can see he isn't either. I don't care if you've seen his transcript with your own eyes. You never can tell how this stuff works out.

That being said.... I doubt he makes it. LOL

Becks,

That was misinformation from Bakas. I was on the sidelines that year and saw Johnson throughout the recruiting season....... Being recruited.
I know we heard the same story about Travis and Kelvin Benjamin.

Off subject Travis and K. Benjamin are they related?

Some of the smartest people in the world have learning disability, doesn’t mean they're dumb just they learn thing a different way. If he really got diagnosed with a learning disability and somebody tried to stop him from getting in Miami because they could be walking on dangerous grounds. Just a guess not a fact but this seems to be subject to discrimination. If somebody on this board is qualified to answer this i would love to hear if they could get trouble for this? Not saying this would ever be the case but now I am wondering

Aziz and Vern have both said its not happening. Just let it go. Hopefully he will be here in a year after prep.

At this point it seems like the best we can hope for is that he only has to prep and not spend two years in JuCo.
